The Co-Director is the Resonant guarding the end of the Unknown zone in Control Resonant, and it is the one boss that punishes patience. You are fighting a ticking clock as much as the boss itself, because a mind-control meter fills throughout the encounter and kills Dylan instantly if it ever reaches full. Winning comes down to raw damage, tight dodging, and never slowing down.
Quick answer: Enter with at least 110 Aberrant Power, stay aggressive, dodge the beam and bombs to keep the mind-control meter low, and burn the boss down before the meter fills and one-shots you.

Requirements before the Co-Director fight
Do not attempt this Resonant until your character is at 110 Aberrant Power or higher. The Co-Director has the largest health pool of any boss up to this point, so you need enough damage output to punch through its defenses within the time you have. Its attacks are predictable, but a single clean hit takes off a huge chunk of health, so surviving is only half the problem. Without strong damage, the mind-control meter fills before you can finish the job.
If you run a summon build, skip your high-health summons. The Co-Director can seize control of your minions and turn them against you, so stick to cheap, spammable units like Mold turrets that do not matter if they get flipped.

The core of the encounter is a gauge that slowly fills the entire fight. It rises passively over time and spikes hard whenever the Co-Director’s attacks connect with you. There is no way to reduce it. Once it fills completely, Dylan dies instantly no matter how much health you have left.
That single rule shapes everything. You cannot play defensively or stall for openings. You have to blitz the boss, avoid taking damage that would accelerate the meter, and keep the pressure on from the first second. Dodging the beam and the bombs matters most, since those hits push the meter fastest.

Opening phase: aerial combos and the ring attack
The Co-Director immediately targets several Rangers accompanying you with a beam. Those troops become enemies, but they are safe to disregard. The friendly Rangers left behind generally defeat them, and their attacks do minimal damage, so concentrate on the boss.
The Co-Director stays airborne for nearly the whole fight. Use the pillars around the arena to close the distance, land aerial combos, and pull back the moment it winds up a move. In this phase, it has only two threats to read:
- A long-range beam you dodge by dashing to the side.
- A tight area-of-effect burst when you get too close, telegraphed by the outer ring closing in on the main body.
Backdash to safety when the outer ring begins contracting. Once its rotation ends, dash toward the main body and attack. The boss remains exposed for several seconds afterward, making this the strongest early-phase opportunity to deal damage.
One-third health: bombs, ground slams, and the extended spin
Once you strip away about a third of its health, the Co-Director takes control of the remaining Rangers. Deal with them immediately, then get back to the boss. It also gains new attacks at this point.
The bomb attack works in two stages. First, dodge the small spheres as they are hurled at you. Then, when the orbs land, get clear of the ground so you are not caught in the blast radius. Watch the boss’s arms as well. If it raises them over its head, it is about to slam down, so move away before the impact lands.
The spin attack also gets upgraded. The Co-Director now spins for far longer, chases you around the arena, and can destroy the pillars you rely on for Reach. Do not try to trade hits during this. Run laps around the arena until it exhausts itself, then rush back in once it stops.

Half health: reinforcements and rocket volleys
At roughly half health, the Co-Director calls in a fresh group of soldiers. They look like help, but they are really bait for it to mind-control and send at you. Whenever you see the boss aim its beam at one of them, sprint over and kill that soldier right away before it flips.
For its last maneuver, the soldiers stationed around the outer ring launch rockets in three-shot bursts. Watch for them to emerge from the ring, then evade the incoming missiles. The boss gains no further attacks after this, so keep moving while directing all your damage at it.

Rewards and how to confirm the win
You know the fight is over when the Co-Director’s health bar empties before your mind-control meter fills. Because the meter is a hard kill switch, the whole encounter is a damage race. Keep attacking, clear controlled Rangers on sight, and never trade the meter for a safer position.
Defeating the Co-Director unlocks the Command ability, which lets you mind-control enemies during combat. The kill also completes the Unknown Resonant quest, and finishing it after clearing every other Resonant contributes to your full completion run.
