Blade Ball Secret Quest Guide: Serpent Boss Walkthrough (The Hunt: Roblox 20)

The secret quest inside Blade Ball for The Hunt: Roblox 20 asks you to take down the World Serpent boss using a specific weapon, the Serpentbane Sword. Clearing it awards the Serpent Slayer badge and unlocks the Hands-On Experience UGC accessory, which you collect back on the 2023 hub map. The full run has a few moving parts, from earning your way into the boss arena to surviving three escalating phases.

Quick answer: Equip the Serpentbane Sword, eliminate the Serpent Bot yourself in a normal round, join the Serpent Breakout battle, defeat the World Serpent across three phases for the Serpent Slayer badge, then claim Hands-On Experience at the 2023 hub podium.

What you need before starting the Blade Ball secret quest

Two things gate this challenge. First, finish the regular Blade Ball event quest tied to the anniversary before the secret path counts. Second, the Serpentbane Sword must be equipped, because eliminations only register toward the secret quest when you are holding it.

Open Blade Ball on Roblox to begin. Play with several people on the server if you can, since the World Serpent deflects balls at everyone in the arena, and a larger group spreads out the incoming attacks.

How to reach the World Serpent boss fight

Open the Skills and Skins menu, switch to the Swords tab, select the Serpentbane Sword, and press Equip. Keep it on from the very start of your session so your eliminations count.

Join any normal match and hunt down the roaming Serpent Bot. You must be the player who lands the elimination. If another player kills it, it will not register, and you will need to keep playing until you get the finishing hit yourself.

It does not matter whether you survive or get eliminated after that. Once the finishing hit lands, that round has done its job.

Go back to the lobby and enable AFK mode through the left sidebar to avoid being placed in another random match. Then approach the Serpent Breakout NPC and step into the ring to bring up the mission screen.

Watch the bottom of the Serpent Breakout mission menu for the green join button. At least one other player on the server also needs to eliminate a Serpent Bot before the button appears. Once it does, press it to enter the queue, and when the timer ends you are teleported into the boss chamber.

A Credit comes from a special NPC that may appear during a round, and any player can pick it up. Survive until the round ends and collect it quickly, because entering the boss fight uses one Credit.

Defeating the World Serpent across three phases

The fight runs through three phases, each triggered after the boss loses a chunk of health. Throughout, your job is to parry and deflect balls back into the Serpent. You need to parry roughly 12 times before it becomes vulnerable and stops moving. To parry, click the moment a ball reaches your avatar.

Phase 1

The Serpent roars and occasionally parries the balls you send toward it. This is the calmest stretch, so focus purely on deflecting cleanly. After it takes enough strikes it becomes Vulnerable and cannot move, and a cutscene rolls you into the next phase.

Phase 2

Now the boss summons moving lines of lava that travel across the platform, and touching one is an instant kill. The lava lines can sweep in from one side or both sides at once. Zoom the camera out as far as possible so you can read incoming lines from either direction, and be ready to slash returning balls even while jumping, since the Serpent also sends them back at higher speed.

Phase 3

The Serpent flies to the center and summons lava far more often, while parrying balls faster, so three or four can home in on you at the same time. Regular Serpent Bots also appear in the arena and deflect some of your shots back at you. The Dash ability is very useful for dodging lasers when a double jump is not enough, and you should keep any remaining respawns for this stretch because you will likely use several.

Try not to lose your health in the first two phases. The extra respawns matter most in Phase 3, where avoiding every attack is nearly impossible.

Confirming the Serpent Slayer badge

Once all three phases are cleared, the Serpent acknowledges that the “worthy have proven themselves,” then falls to the ground and vanishes in a short cutscene. When the cutscene finishes, a “Congratulations” message appears on screen and the Serpent Slayer badge is awarded before you are returned to the lobby. That message is your confirmation that the secret quest is complete.

How to claim the Hands-On Experience UGC on the 2023 hub

The reward is not handed over inside Blade Ball. You collect it back on the 2023 map of the anniversary hub, using the same Roblox account.

Teleport to The Hunt: Roblox 20’s 2023 map. Once you appear, make your way to the huge bicycle and the slanted white column beside the tree.

Use the column to climb upward, cross to the top of the hill, and follow the ridge to the podium on the far side, away from spawn.

Press E at the podium to claim the reward. Completing the quest and interacting here grants the Hands-On Experience UGC item, created by Innovatement, along with the Serpent Slayer and S18 badges. Equip the accessory from the Customize menu.

The Hunt: Roblox 20 runs through September 28, 2026, so finish the Serpent fight and claim the podium reward before that date to keep the Hands-On Experience accessory permanently.
