How to Get Silver Light Sword in Genshin Impact (Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon)

Silver Light is a free 4-star Sword tied to the Moonchase Festival’s flagship event, Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon, in Genshin Impact Version 7.1. You do not pull for it on a banner. Instead, you earn a currency called Festive Cheer by playing the event’s three minigames, then spend nothing to claim the sword once you hit the required amount.

Event window and requirements

Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon runs during Version 7.1 and brings the Moonchase Festival back to Liyue for the first time in years. The event and Silver Light are available from September 24, 2026 through October 12, 2026. The sword is event-exclusive, so it will not appear on any wish banner.

Before the minigames open, check the Event Overview menu and clear any required event quest steps shown in-game. The activities take place around Yilong Wharf and nearby locations in Liyue.

Festive Cheer needed for Silver Light: 200.
Completing all minigames and objectives on day one grants 220 Festive Cheer, enough to claim the sword immediately.
Silver Light gains a 1.5x Weapon Enhancement EXP bonus for the duration of the event.

The Great Chase and Dispelling (runner minigame)

Open the Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon event menu, select Fun & Games, and choose The Great Chase and Dispelling.

Track the activity to Yilong Wharf, Chenyu Vale, and speak with Lan Ying. Travel to the challenge location, Fading Shadows in Mingyun Village, near the Hidden Palace of Lianshan Formula.

Approach the red challenge monument, read the instructions, and start the rattan figure runner. Steer along the course, collect Adeptal Energy, and dodge the miasmic energy to reach the goal and bank your score.

Spiritshot Salvo: The Shrouded Path

Return to the event menu and speak with Wenxun at Yilong Wharf to start Spiritshot Salvo. Select stage I, The Shrouded Path, and review the Spiritshot mechanics before beginning.

Aim and fire elemental Spiritshots at the incoming waves of evil spirit cubes. Pick up Battle Talismans as they appear to strengthen your shots.

Defeat the boss to finish the stage, then open the rewards menu and claim everything, including 30 Festive Cheer alongside Hero’s Wit, Sanctifying Unction, Mora, and enhancement ore.

Banner Against the Dark (combat scoring)

Head back to Yilong Wharf and talk to Baofei to begin Paper Showdown: Banner Against the Dark. Pick the stage Countless Heights We Brave, Through Bitter Cold We Pave.

Choose your difficulty and set up a team. Higher difficulties such as Fearless apply a large Score Multiplier, which makes reaching the top reward tiers faster.

Defeat fiends to power up the banner, then keep depleting the HP bars of the Secret Source Automaton: Overseer Device to build a high score. This stage provides the bulk of your remaining Festive Cheer, up to 120 total across its milestone tiers.

Finish the run, then claim each stage reward tier you have unlocked so all earned Festive Cheer is added to your total.

Claim Silver Light from the Festive Cheer track

When your Festive Cheer hits 200, go back to the event interface and select the Festive Cheer tab to display the reward progression track. Use the gift icon beside Moontrace Gift 200/200 to collect Silver Light.

You will know it worked when the sword appears in your inventory. Open your character screen and check the weapon list to confirm a level 1 Silver Light with its passive and lore description showing.
