A Solvent Spirit is a low-level Horde quest in Durotar that sends you into the water near Sen’jin Village to gather alchemy ingredients for Master Vornal. You need parts from two creature families, the makrura and the surf crawlers, and both drop their items randomly. The reward, ten stacks of Really Sticky Glue, is the reason many players still remember it.
Quick answer: Loot 4 Intact Makrura Eyes from Makrura Clackers and Shellhides, and 8 Crawler Mucus from Pygmy Surf Crawlers, in the water between Darkspear Strand and the Echo Isles, then return to Master Vornal in Sen’jin Village.

Where to farm the quest items in Durotar
Everything you need drops along the eastern shoreline and in the channel that separates Darkspear Strand from the Echo Isles. Head east out of Sen’jin Village to reach the beach, then work the sand and the shallow water. Swimming toward the Echo Isles gives you access to more makrura if the beach is crowded.
- Darkspear Strand shoreline near [55, 81] for Pygmy Surf Crawlers.
- The water toward the Echo Isles near [64, 85] for makrura.
- Sunken shipwreck areas off the coast hold extra makrura.
- The shore north toward Tiragarde Keep is a quieter overflow spot.
The crawlers are non-aggressive and appear as yellow targets, while the makrura are aggressive and will attack on sight. Both types flee when their health drops low, so be ready to finish them quickly.
How to complete A Solvent Spirit
Open with ranged abilities or spells against the makrura, since non-melee attacks give you the best chance of getting the eye when it drops.
Loot every corpse, since the eye only appears on some kills. The drop rate hovers around 50 percent, so patience matters more than efficiency here.
Turn in and confirm the reward
Return to Master Vornal in Sen’jin Village and select Complete Quest. Your tracker should read Intact Makrura Eye 4/4 and Crawler Mucus 8/8 before the option appears. On turn-in you receive 10 Really Sticky Glue, a small amount of copper, 625 experience, and 250 reputation with both the Darkspear Trolls and Orgrimmar. The quest disappearing from your log and the glue landing in your bags confirm it worked.
