The Haunting Elegance Star Path arrived in Disney Dreamlight Valley with the Season of Scares update, giving the Valley a Halloween makeover full of witches, skeletons, and pumpkins. It runs for 75 days and ends on December 7, and you earn Pumpkin Tokens by clearing Duties, then spend those tokens on themed clothing, furniture, motifs, Dream Styles, and companions.
Quick answer: Complete the 121 main Duties plus three weekly Routine Duties each Wednesday to earn Pumpkin Tokens, then redeem them on the Rewards pages before the event closes on December 7.
How the Haunting Elegance Star Path works
Every Duty you finish pays out Pumpkin Tokens, the event currency you spend on the Rewards pages. Redeeming three of the seven items in a section unlocks the next section for purchase, so you don’t have to buy everything to keep moving forward.
The Basic track shows three active Duties at a time. The Premium track costs Moonstones and shows six active Duties at once, which speeds up token farming and unlocks the Premium-only rewards. You can pay 2,500 Moonstones for the standard Premium track or 3,300 Moonstones for a version that also grants 100 Pumpkin Tokens up front.
On Apple Arcade the Star Path arrives later in October and works differently. There is no Premium track, no Premium rewards, no Moonstones, and no token purchases, and the weekly Routine Duties are replaced with Daily Duties and Milestone Rewards.

There are 121 main Duties in total, far more than a typical Star Path. Many early tasks overlap with normal play, so check your active list before a big mining, fishing, or harvesting session because one action can advance several Duties at once. Here is the full run of tasks and what each pays.

Weekly routine duties
On top of the main list, the event adds seven weeks of Routine Duties, three per week, for 21 extra tasks. A fresh set unlocks every Wednesday from September 23 through November 4, and each one grants Pumpkin Tokens like the main Duties. Completing a full week also releases that week’s Vault Reward.

Candy is the fastest of the three. It is a one-star sweet recipe, so a single sweet ingredient such as marshmallow makes one serving, and you can cook 15 in a short session at any stove. When the Event menu shows Candy at 15/15, claim it for the tokens.
The hangout task simply needs Jack Skellington as your paired companion or a chat session that adds up to 30 minutes of time together. Walk up to him and use the Talk prompt to start.
Mining 20 orange gems (Citrine)
The orange gem you need is Citrine, and its rock nodes appear mostly in the Sunlit Plateau and the Glade of Trust. Swing your pickaxe at the sparkling rock deposits in both biomes and collect what drops from the node itself.
Bonus gems dropped by a mining companion do not count toward this Duty. Only gems you pull directly from a rock node add to the 20 you need.
To keep nodes appearing, fast travel between the wishing wells in the Sunlit Plateau and the Glade of Trust. Cycling between the two biomes gives the mineral veins time to respawn, so you rarely have to stand around waiting.
Clearing all three Week 1 tasks unlocks that week’s Vault Reward, the Ghastly Backpack, a Nightmare Before Christmas-themed accessory you can equip right away.
Later routine duties
The remaining six weeks unlock on a fixed schedule, each Wednesday. If you are chasing every Vault Reward, log in near each reset so the weekly tasks don’t stack up at the end of the event.

The pages also hold recurring Moonstone bundles, furniture, motifs, makeup, and photo frames. If tokens are tight, decide whether you want a Dream Style, the companion, or the house skin before spending on the cheaper filler items.
How to confirm a duty is complete
Open the Event menu and select Haunting Elegance to see each Duty’s progress counter, such as 15/15 for Candy or 20/20 for orange gems. Once a counter fills, the Duty shows as ready to claim, and selecting it deposits the listed Pumpkin Tokens into your event total. You can then spend those tokens on the Rewards and Vault Rewards tabs, and the game marks each redeemed item as owned. With the event ending on December 7, finish the main Duties and stay current on the weekly Routine Duties to redeem everything before the timer runs out.
