The Mysterious Dog in the West Incursion Zone sits on a high rooftop in the northwest corner of the map, west of the Parking Garage where you meet Jesse Fault. Speak with it, bring back its plush toy, and you start the “Notes: Every Dog Has Her Day” side quest while earning a small reward. Getting up to the dog is the only real obstacle, and that depends on one ability.
Quick answer: Use the Gravity Anomaly wall-run ability from Jesse Fault to reach the rooftop dog north of the House of Mirrors, grab the blue plush toy from the neighboring rooftop’s AC unit, and drop it in the dog’s bed.
What you need before starting
You cannot reach this dog without the Gravity Anomaly ability, which lets you run up marked vertical surfaces. You unlock it from Jesse Fault in the Parking Lot of the West Incursion Zone. Complete that step first, then head to the rooftops around the House of Mirrors.
Once you have the ability, the entire task takes only a few minutes. The dog whimpers as you get close, which helps you pin down its exact position on the rooftop.
Fast travel to the Theater Vista point in the West Incursion Zone. Open the map to orient yourself between Theater Vista and the House of Mirrors before you move.

Drop down to street level outside the House of Mirrors and head into the alley marked “PATTERNED AREA.” Activate the freight lift switch to ride the industrial lift up to the road above.

Exit the lift and run down the street, past the parked vehicles, toward the back wall at the end.

At the street’s far end, a high wall has vertical grips and a beach ball stuck close to its upper edge. Turn to face it, activate Gravity Anomaly with L1, and sprint upward onto the rooftop.
The toy is a blue plush dinosaur sitting on top of an air conditioning unit on the rooftop next door. It is close by, so the trickiest part is crossing over and finding a route back while carrying it.
Leap from the roof’s east edge, run along the wall, then climb past the “CHOWRAP” dog billboard to the neighboring rooftop.

Carry the toy back across the scaffolding and drop down onto the dog’s rooftop. Place it directly into the pet bed next to the dog.
While holding the toy you cannot use zip-style traversal, but you can still vault ledges and use your gravity-shift ability, so follow the scaffolding route back rather than trying to fast-travel or zip up.
How to confirm the quest started
After dropping the toy in the bed, talk to the dog one more time with L1. Dylan says the dog got what it wanted, and the game awards +1 Undefined Reading and displays “NEW QUEST NOTES: EVERY DOG HAS HER DAY.” That on-screen prompt is your confirmation the encounter counted.
This is one of seven Mysterious Dog encounters across Manhattan. Returning every dog’s toy completes the full side story and unlocks the Dog’s Best Friend trophy, so mark this West Incursion Zone dog off your list and move on to the next region.
