The “Find Jesse and Talk to Her” objective belongs to The Underpass Fault mission in Control Resonant, part of the Search for Jesse chain. Playing as Dylan Faden, you move through a dreamlike interior of brutalist concrete blocks and bright yellow grass, recovering childhood memories until you finally reach an adult, amnesiac Jesse.

Quick answer: Enter The Underpass Fault, use L1 (Remember) to trigger each memory projection, guide the light-projected children to reunite young Dylan and Jesse, then talk to the adult Jesse waiting at the end.

Where the objective starts in Control Resonant

The task begins once you follow the vision of Jesse to the island where the Patterned orange pipes in the Underpass converge. The Fault is approached from The Spire after you have the Reach ability, so this is a later stop on the hunt for Jesse rather than an early one.

Once inside, Dylan races along suspended platforms covered in yellow foliage. Continue ahead and go through the only glowing white doorframe on the route to reach the space beyond.

Past the doorframe you reach a small clearing set up like a childhood bedroom, with a bed, a ladder, and a bicycle. This is where the memory projections begin.

Trigger every memory with L1 (Remember)

Progress depends on interacting with shadow memory projections cast on the concrete surfaces. Each one shows a circular prompt, and pressing L1 (Remember) plays back a piece of Dylan and Jesse’s family history. You cannot skip them; each memory opens the next stretch of the Fault.

MemoryWhat Dylan recalls
FirstMom teaching him to paint
SecondDad taking him camping and hiking
ThirdFeeling content with only the three of them together
FourthGetting the game Severed Circle II for Christmas
FifthParents growing fearful and withdrawing
SixthJesse running away and the two being drawn back together
SeventhA promise by the Christmas tree to always be there

The first three memories sit near the bedroom clearing. Trigger the mother, father, and family-happiness projections in turn.

After the third memory the wall shifts and a burning silhouette of light appears, changing position to lead you on. Chase it across the floating blocks, including a stretch of disjointed platforms beneath an inverted floating tree.

At the end of that platforming run you reach the fourth memory, where Dylan remembers receiving Severed Circle II for Christmas.

Guide the light-projected children and reunite young Dylan and Jesse

The final stretch turns into a movement puzzle. Two glowing child silhouettes represent young Dylan and young Jesse, and they can only advance along the concrete walls when your path clears the gaps beside them. The objective updates as you go, first to Guide the Light-Projected Children, then to Reunite Young Dylan and Jesse.

Climb the wall ledges and pull yourself up through the square opening to reach the next corridor. This is where the two child silhouettes appear on the wall.

Move along the yellow-leaf ledges so the children’s silhouettes can track your progress on the adjacent walls. Partway through you trigger the fifth memory, in which the parents grow frightened and distant.

The sixth memory plays as Jesse runs away, and the objective becomes Reunite Young Dylan and Jesse. Leap between the raised concrete pillars to open a route for Jesse’s stuck silhouette so it can move alongside you.

Continue up the stone blocks and across the raised platforms until Jesse’s projection reaches the reunion point. Should the figures drift apart, adjust their positions until their shadows touch; then activate the seventh memory at the Christmas tree projection, recalling Dylan and Jesse’s pledge to stand by one another.

Talk to Jesse and pick the dialogue

After they reunite, drop into the clearing. Adult Jesse Faden is there, trembling with her hands on her head. She breaks down and says she couldn’t protect Dylan. You are then given two responses in the conversation.

  • You did take care of me — Dylan affirms that Jesse handled everything alone.
  • You were just a kid too

Selecting You did take care of me puts Jesse at ease. Dylan is reluctant, but she urges him to recall their night out in Ordinary that ran too late.

You know the objective is done when the quest log updates from Find Jesse and Talk to Her to Help Jesse Complete the Ritual. That new task is your cue to continue the Fault toward the ritual and back out into the Underpass.
