The haunted-house deckbuilder leaves PC behind and arrives on five console platforms on the same day.

Deck of Haunts, the roguelike deckbuilder that casts you as a living, murderous mansion, is coming to consoles this autumn. Developer Mantis Games and publisher DANGEN Entertainment have locked in a single launch day across PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo hardware, roughly a year and a half after the game first appeared on PC.

Quick answer: Deck of Haunts releases on consoles on October 8, 2026, covering PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox One, and the original Nintendo Switch. No specific launch time or time zone has been confirmed.

Release status: Confirmed for October 8, 2026

The console date is confirmed. Deck of Haunts arrives on every listed platform on October 8, 2026. The console release date trailer closes on that date alongside the PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S logos, with the Switch badge marked with a “2” to signal Switch 2 support.

An exact release time and time zone have not been shared, so there is no official countdown to point to yet. Expect timing to follow each platform’s usual regional rollout on launch day.

What you are buying on consoles

You play as the haunted house itself, not an explorer inside it. By day you lay out rooms to build a maze around your Heart room. By night, humans wander in through the front door, and you spend a hand of cards to scare, injure, or drain the sanity of everyone who trespasses.

Each card costs Action Points. Some deal direct damage to a person’s Health, while others reduce Sanity, raise tension, lock doors, or teleport intruders to a different part of the house. Cards like Phantom Raking, Oikophobia, and Guttural Pain map onto recognizable horror-movie beats while still following the physical logic of the mansion.

How you kill matters. Draining someone’s sanity to zero leaves them slumped in place, but outright killing a person can backfire: if another intruder spots the body, they turn and rush for the exit. Let them escape and you lose essence, the currency you use to expand the mansion.

The core cards, rooms, and enemy types you can expect on consoles include the following.

  • Basic rooms such as the Guest Room, Kitchen, and Living Room, plus special rooms like the Altar Room and Frozen Room.
  • Summoned allies including the Nefarious Imp and the Belltower Witch.
  • Tougher intruders over time, from police who shoot locks off doors to priests who cannot be harmed while grouped, and Stone Masons who damage the Heart directly.
  • A survival goal of lasting 28 nights while protecting a Heart room that starts with 8 HP.

Progression between runs

Deck of Haunts is a roguelike, so each attempt starts fresh, but you carry meta progression across runs. Leveling up unlocks new cards to draft, and you can pick from four starting decks: a balanced default, a damage-focused deck, a sanity-drain deck, and a chaos deck that pulls randomly from everything you have unlocked.

Between nights, you spend essence to add and reshape rooms. Large rooms can be converted into special ones, such as a mechanical room that heals the Heart or a thorn room that damages anyone who steps inside. You are always required to keep at least one path open to the Heart room, so expansion is about lengthening and complicating the route rather than sealing it off.

How to confirm the release near launch

You will know the console version is live when it appears as purchasable on your platform’s store, whether that is the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store on Xbox, or the Nintendo eShop, with an install or buy option rather than a pre-order or “coming soon” label. On PC, the game is already installable directly from its Steam listing.

The Nintendo release spans both Switch 2 and the original Switch, so check that you are selecting the correct version for your hardware on the eShop.
