Aniimo: How to Play the Flute and Unlock A Match Made Through Music

Playing the flute in Aniimo is tied to a single achievement, A Match Made Through Music, which asks you to sit at a bench, perform a tune, and meet with the first Pathfinder who shows up. It runs on the game’s online matchmaking, so another live player has to join before it counts.

Quick answer: Sit on a bench, press Q to play the flute, choose a melody, and wait for another player to join. When they enter your world, the achievement unlocks.

Bench locations for the flute

Two benches are confirmed for this task, one in the Forest of Falling Stars and one in the Sea of Flowers. Either works, so head to whichever region is closer to you.

The Forest of Falling Stars bench sits on the east side of the region, tucked under the large tree that also holds a treasure chest. The Sea of Flowers bench overlooks a small island with a birdhouse, on the east side of the lake, just past Bloomville.

Drop a custom marker on the bench coordinates from the map before you travel, then mount up and ride straight to it so you do not lose the spot in the open field.

Play the flute and summon a Pathfinder

Walk up to the bench and interact with it to sit down. Your character dismounts and takes a seat once you trigger the prompt.

While seated, press the Q key to bring up the flute. On a controller, hold RB + X and choose the flute icon instead.

Pick one of the three melodies and start playing. The tune acts as a call sign that lets other online players drop into your session.

Keep playing and wait for someone to arrive. Wait times vary by melody. Some players report near-instant matches on the grey melody and several minutes on the pink one, so switch tunes if nobody shows up.

This step needs a live connection and an active player to join your world, so you cannot complete it fully offline.

How to confirm the achievement unlocked

When another player joins your party and loads into the world, the requirement is complete. You’ll receive A Match Made Through Music for playing the flute and meeting the first Pathfinder.

If you want to double-check, open the achievements menu and look for the entry, which should now be marked as unlocked. Once it registers, you are free to leave the bench and carry on exploring.
