Fisch Boat Racing Update: New VroomVroom Code, Masteries, and Buffs

What the update changes across boat races, rod masteries, gauntlet stats, bug fixes, and the time-limited VroomVroom code.

Fisch’s Boat Racing update puts the game’s boats front and center. Race Leader NPCs now stand on several islands, timed courses feed a shared leaderboard, and the same patch layers in two rod masteries, a run of stat changes, a batch of bug fixes, storage and crate tweaks, and a short-lived promo code.

Quick answer: The Boat Racing update adds island race courses with leaderboards, two new rod masteries, broad stat rebalancing, bug fixes, and the VroomVroom code, active until 16:00 UTC on September 27, 2026.

Boat racing courses and leaderboards

Fisch now has Race Leaders on several islands. Speak to one to enter a course against the clock; completing it earns free rewards. Your time is saved and ranked against every other player’s time on that route.

At a Race Leader, you can challenge other players, run a solo practice, switch racing boats, or check the leaderboard. Solo practice costs 0 C$, while a timed race against other players costs 100 C$. Completing the Moosewood route earns a reward from its Race Leader.

Official races give all boats matching stats. Vehicle upgrades you normally use are disabled for racing, making driving skill the deciding factor.

The VroomVroom code and rewards

The patch includes the VroomVroom code. Its changelog recommends claiming it without delay, as Fisch codes often stop working shortly after an update. You must be level 25 to use it, and it expires at 16:00 UTC on September 27, 2026. Enter codes from Settings under Codes; capitalization has no effect.

Redeeming a working code shows a “Successfully redeemed!” confirmation and drops the items straight into your inventory. VroomVroom grants 1,000 C$, the Pancaked Flimsy Rod skin, 10x Instant Catcher, 5x Luminous Larva, and one random item, which can be the Bloop Whistle, a Dripstone Collapse Totem, Starfall Totem, Rainbow Totem, Megalodon Hunt Totem, Kraken Hunt Totem, Scylla Hunt Totem, or Colossal Dragon Hunt Totem.

Two new rod masteries

Two rods now have separate mastery tracks. The changelog says Stellarwave Melody Mastery synthesizes the stars; Rod of the Singularity Mastery, by contrast, centers on watching them collapse. Both use the usual rod-specific quests, which award passive boosts and other rewards as they are completed. Progress appears in the in-game progression menu.

Newly obtainable rods

Three rods that were previously locked can now be obtained: the Blackhole Rod, the Cinder Block Rod, and the Rod of the Singularity. The patch also increases the maximum durability of all Trident-tier Boat Propellers, which is useful now that boats have a dedicated racing mode.

Cinderstring and Infernal Mastery rebalance

Cinderstring’s base stats have been raised across the board.

StatBeforeAfter
Lure Speed95%100%
Control00.05
Resilience10%80%
Progress Speed15%30%
Universal7%10%

Its two Infernal Mastery tiers are stronger too. Infernal Mastery I now lasts 60 seconds instead of 30, and fish caught with the rod under the Emberflame effect give +20% EXP and C$. Infernal Mastery II raises Lure Speed from 100% to 105%, Progress Speed from +25% to +30%, and Universal Luck from 10% to 20%.

At Master/Dev level, the Amethyst Rod’s appended mutation multiplier increases from 9.5x to 12x. Control rises from 0.15 to 0.2, but the resilience multiplier cap drops from 2.25x to 1.85x.

Gauntlet stat changes

Five gauntlets get stat increases across control, luck, resilience, and passive effects.

Bug fixes, storage limits, and crate handling

The patch clears several long-standing issues and tightens how storage works.

  • Mariana’s Veil progression is fixed, restoring Challenger’s Deep Podium completion states and returning any missing Biomarkers Vial to the podium.
  • The Ice Warpers Rod now appears as intended.
  • Spawn Boats Anywhere has received a small spawning improvement, and boats can no longer appear in the Obsidian Trench when using it.
  • The crew rejoin problem has been eased; after a random kick, players should be able to reconnect normally.
  • To avoid data loss, storage and inventory now each have a limit of 32,000 item stacks.
  • The new “Open All Crates” toggle opens all unfavorited crates of one type in a single action.

Recent Fisch content and what’s coming

Boat racing is a smaller release that makes room for larger updates. The 2nd Anniversary update is expected to be a bigger, longer release, but its only announced timing is a “next week” window, with no confirmed date. FischFright 3 is in development as well.

Before boat racing, updates took the game in different directions. One brought in the Blue Galapagos Octopus, Walrus, and Reef Triggerfish, three fish found around Desolate Deep, Snowcap Island, and Roslit Bay. Another added the Sei Whale migration hunt: this fast-roaming whale migrates only when Windy Weather and Nighttime overlap.

Because this patch changes many rod, elemental, and gauntlet stats, it may be time to review your current setups. Claim the VroomVroom code before it expires.
