Dinolords is adding multiplayer, and it is bringing a free demo along with it. The medieval strategy game from Northplay, published by Ghost Ship Publishing, revealed a dedicated multiplayer trailer during Coffee Stain’s Big Break Showcase, confirming battles for up to eight players and a playable demo arriving on Steam.
Quick answer: The free Dinolords multiplayer demo launches on October 19th, 2026 on Steam, and anyone can download and play it once it goes live.
What Dinolords is
Dinolords mixes real-time strategy, city-building, and action RPG combat into a single hybrid the developer calls “Hack’n’Strat.” You build a stronghold, gather resources, and raise armies made up of both human soldiers and dinosaurs. At the same time, you can step directly onto the battlefield and control your Lord in melee combat.
The setting is a medieval world where warlords tame and armor dinosaurs for war. Your forces combine traditional medieval troops, such as swordsmen, spearmen, and crossbowmen, with armored dinosaurs fitted with saddles, plating, and mounted weapons like siege ballistas.
What the multiplayer trailer shows
The trailer walks through the game’s core loop and its two sides. On the strategy side, two Lords in green and blue capes build wooden structures and workshops together, expand villages with farm plots, and open building menus split into Town, Fortifications, Resources, and Military tabs. A training queue appears for a Swordsman, described as a melee frontline soldier with a Charge auto-skill and a Brace Lord Ability.
Combat favors direct involvement: Lords use spells and battle troops at close range, while cavalry and crossbowmen lay ambushes. A settlement under siege has a triceratops carrying a ballista to defend it. Larger set-pieces feature an enemy tyrannosaur crashing through stone walls, followed by an armored apex dinosaur destroying buildings at night.

The footage was captured in-engine, with a note that some angles were adjusted for the trailer and that graphics and features are not final.
How multiplayer works
Multiplayer supports up to eight players on a single battlefield map. The map shown in the trailer is a stylized medieval version of Britain, covering England and Wales, with eight spawn points marked under the line “A battlefield of 8 Dinolords.”

Match formats are flexible. You can play free-for-all, form teams, take on the CPU cooperatively, or set up lopsided fights such as 1v7. Both cooperative play and player-versus-player battles are covered.
Playing the free demo
The multiplayer demo is free and available to everyone on the Dinolords Steam page. Once the demo goes live on October 19th, 2026, you will be able to download it directly and jump into matches. You know it worked when the demo appears as a downloadable option on the store page and installs to your library.
The demo is the way to try the multiplayer modes ahead of the full game. The main release date for Dinolords has not been announced.

For players who have followed the game through its earlier showings, the multiplayer reveal is the clearest look yet at how base-building and hands-on combat come together against real opponents. The demo makes that free to test before committing, and it arrives the same month it was announced.
