Half the challenge in Slayers 2 is not the demons. It is finding the person who teaches you how to fight them. Trainers hide on rooftops, inside flooded caves, behind waterfalls, and on peaks you cannot reach without Wall Climb. The map is split across villages, snow biomes, and harbors, and the game rarely marks where the useful characters stand.
Quick answer: NPCs fall into six roles — Breathing trainers, Fighting Style trainers, Demon Art givers, quest and service vendors, fishing staff, and Final Selection characters. Each table below lists the exact location and requirement for its group.

Breathing Style trainers and locations
Breathing trainers open up at Level 25, but the level is the easy part. Each style charges its own toll in Demon Horns, Beast Cores, or Wen, and several trainers sit far from the main settlements. Carry the materials before you travel, because walking back for five Beast Cores is a waste of a session.
| Trainer | Style | Location | Requirements |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rengu | Flame | Rooftop by the long red bridge outside Mistfall Village | Level 25, 10 Demon Horns |
| Shinora | Insect | Rooftop of the main building at Butterfly Estate | Level 25, extra cost |
| Gyorei | Stone | Lower route near the bear area | Level 25, Axe, Mace, 5 Beast Cores |
| Zentaro | Thunder | Highest peak in Hidden Mist Village | Level 25, Wall Climb, 10 Demon Horns |
| Urokodaki | Water | Island house via hidden passage near Bamboo Grove | Level 25, 5,000 WEN, 30 Demon Horns |
| Saneri | Wind | Water platform in Iceveil Valley | Level 25, 50 Demon Horns |
| Tengai | Sound | Small island north of the Iceveil Valley Shrine | Level 25, Wall Climb, 10 Demon Horns |
| Obari | Serpent | Cliff north of Windy Peak | Level 25, 20 Demon Horns, 5 Beast Cores |
Talking to a trainer only starts the questline. You unlock the style and its moveset after you finish the training objectives, not the moment you speak to them.
The Iceveil Valley trainers sit in a cold zone that drains health over time. Use campfires to build protection before crossing the snow to reach Saneri or Tengai.

Add to Google Preferences →Fighting Style trainers: Tai Chi, Soryu, and Reaper
All three are Fighting Styles, not Breathing techniques. Slayers can learn Tai Chi; Demon characters are limited to Soryu and Reaper. Unlock Fishing before attempting their trials.
| Trainer | Style | Location | Requirements |
|---|---|---|---|
| Renjiro | Tai Chi | Hidden Mist Village | Slayer, Level 65 |
| Kazuma | Soryu | Seasons Crossing waterfront near Mistfall Harbor | Demon, fishing unlocked |
| Zurinyz | Reaper | Hut near a campfire, northeastern Iceveil Settlement | Demon, Level 100 |
Reaching Kazuma does not complete the requirements. Retrieve the Soryu Scroll inside the flooded cave behind the waterfall nearby, then find Soryu Trainee Goki deeper in Veilfall Cavern. Kazuma is only the opening part of the quest chain.

Demon Art NPCs
Demon progression runs on a different system. Muzan is the central figure. You need -40 reputation and you have to find him at night, and his spawn moves between areas rather than staying fixed.
| NPC | Purpose | Location / Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Muzan | Demon transformation and Art rolls | Night spawns at Mistfall Harbor, Iceveil Valley, Hidden Mist Village; -40 reputation |
| Dr. Higoshima | Demon transformation quest | Hidden Mist Village |
| Hoyuzo | Sickle farming | Cave below the bear area |
Once you become a Demon, the Biwa Bell teleports you back to Muzan’s lair to roll for Blood Demon Arts. Rolling an Art hands you an Evil Art Orb; consuming it starts that Art’s training quest instead of granting the full moveset instantly.
The current Blood Demon Art pool is Arrow, Dream Manipulation, Ice Manipulation, Shockwave, Tamari, Blood Manipulation, Obi Manipulation, and Pyrokinesis. Reaper is counted separately as a Fighting Style.

Early progression quest givers
Kona
On the main route through Windy Peak, Kona stands outside a house and starts Recover the Lost Pages. Find five pages throughout the starting village, then bring them back to earn the Book of Guidance, which points to your next objective. Speak with him early.
Krue
At the initial spawn, Krue offers the first combat tasks: fight Bandits at Level 1, then take on Zuko at Level 7.
Tom
Tom is near the bear grounds and assigns two hunts: Bears at Level 13, followed by the Mother Bear at Level 18.
Chaka
Chaka runs the Kaiden questline, covering Kaiden’s Subordinates at Level 26 and Kaiden at Level 34. His position shifts, so track him using the Book of Guidance and your active objective.
Wagwan
Wagwan is beneath the waterfall below the bear grounds. Around Level 40, he assigns the Hoyuzo’s Guards progression, which prepares you for later content such as Final Selection.

Vendors and service NPCs
These characters sell gear, unlock clothing and crafting, or buy your unwanted loot. Several of them lock their shop behind a short fetch quest before the menu opens.
Raze
Raze operates the weapon stall inside Windy Peak. The Regular Katana costs 500 WEN, while the Fancy Katana is priced at 1,500 WEN.
Ren
Ren runs the Gourd shop at Butterfly Estate. Recover the blade he lost near the waterfall to make the shop available. A Large Gourd costs 8,800 Wen; prices for the other gourds vary with current stock.
Ginzo
Ginzo can be found in Mistfall Harbor. Retrieve his Jewelry Box from his home in the Village Hidden in the Mist to unlock him as a buyer; after that, he will purchase loot you don’t need.
Old Trapper Retsu
Starting from the bear area, follow the snowy route to the second gate, where Retsu is nearby. Visit him at night and ask about his lantern; he points you to the Mushroom Lit Lantern cave for 2,500 Wen. Take off your lantern before attempting the mushroom puzzle inside.
Iceveil Guard Shiro
Shiro offers Supply the Settlement near the purple spawn crystal in Snow Village. Complete the quest to unlock the winter shop, where you can find the Shovel and other progression items.
Betty
On the cliff above the large waterfall in Bamboo Grove, Betty gives the Lost Gemstone quest at Level 10. Look underwater past the red bridge, along the rocky bank on the left, to find the gemstone.
Moldy Sugar and Elara the Tailor
Moldy Sugar, in the starting village, assigns a tailor’s package delivery. Bring it to Elara in Mistfall Harbor to open her clothing shop. Her wares include the Black Amigasa, which protects against the sun.
Blacksmith Togane and Stonemason Tobei
Togane crafts and upgrades weapons in Hidden Mist Village; providing schematics and materials advances the Forge progression. Tobei lives in a house across from the fishing-supplies building in the same village and offers the Nightfall Gauntlets progression. Activate all three statues, then return to claim the Nightfall Gauntlets Schematic.

Fishing NPCs
Dock Master Sofen begins the Fishing Permit quest at Level 45. The other staff members handle rods, bait, and refinement.
| NPC | Location | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Dock Master Sofen | Mistfall Harbor docks, by the crane | Permit quest at Level 45; costs 5,000 WEN, rewards Permit and 2,700 EXP |
| Fisherman Jeso | Mistfall Harbor docks, beside Sofen | Basic Rod 3,500 WEN; Rare Rod 10,000 WEN and 5 Golden Fish |
| Isao (Ghost Fisherman) | Under the red bridge at Mistfall Docks | Appears at night for the Legendary Rod quest |
| Baitmonger Nori | Hidden Mist Village | Opens the bait shop after Shiori’s errand |
| Shiori | Butterfly Estate infirmary | Needs 10 Health, 10 Health Regen, 10 Stamina Elixirs |
| Hagane | Hidden Mist Village | Refines rods with WEN and ores |
Final Selection NPCs
Final Selection needs at least Level 45, reached through Mistfall Harbor and the Butterfly Estate route. The Sisters at the gate start the trial, and you meet the rest as you move through the stages.
| NPC | Location | Role |
|---|---|---|
| The Sisters | Trial gate | Start the trial; return after completing it |
| Rem | Forest | Fruit collection quest |
| Vael | Woods | Defeat Lesser Demons |
| Klien | Trial cliffside | Recover his Nichirin Katana and treat his wounds |
| Rika | Final Selection area | Sells the Bandages needed for Klien |
| Mizuto | Pond section | Underwater key and dungeon objectives |
| Lavato | Mountain section | Timed checkpoint / parkour objective |
| Levi | After the checkpoint route | Civilian rescue objective |
| Steve | Final Selection | Part of the trial sequence |
Rika matters most during Klien’s objective. You cannot treat his wounds without the Bandages she sells, so visit her before trying to finish that stage.

Late-game Slayer quest givers
Two higher-level characters continue Slayer progression beyond the early quests. At Butterfly Estate, Demon Slayer Goro offers Level 75 tasks, including Thin the Cavern Floor. Across the bridge in Iceveil Valley, Demon Slayer Mitsu gives Level 105 and 115 quests against frost and burning demons. Demons follow a separate route, so Slayer-only NPCs may not appear for them.
Can’t find an NPC? Check these first
If a character refuses to show up, run through the conditions before assuming a bug. Most missing NPCs come down to a few checks.
- You have not hit the required level or finished the previous quest.
- The NPC spawns only at night, such as Muzan, Isao, and Retsu’s lantern dialogue.
- The NPC is hidden on a rooftop, in a cave, underwater, or on an elevated ledge.
- On a private server, PvE may be disabled, which removes NPCs entirely.
You know a trainer worked when the questline updates and the style or Art appears on your moveset after you clear its objectives, not simply after the first conversation. Keep the Book of Guidance active, unlock Wall Climb before any mountain route, and carry the listed materials so a long trip actually ends in a completed unlock.
