Wendell is an Elite Pathfinder waiting at Zephyrus Landbridge in Breezy Plains, and his whole squad leans on Grass and Wind attacks. That single fact decides the fight. Load up on the right element, strip away his crowd control, and keep your Aniimo out of his pull effects, and a battle that feels unfair becomes routine.

Quick answer: Bring Fire, Light, or Lightning DPS, interrupt Tubster’s Gale Guard and Cornet’s Wind Bomb Rush with crowd control, and dash out of the Tornado before it drags you in.

Where to find Wendell at Zephyrus Landbridge

At Zephyrus Landbridge, look for Wendell beside a mist-shrouded geyser, with his Aniimo companion close by. Defeat him in the first battle to open his Elite Pathfinder challenge. Wendell carries the Sonata of the Wind badge; beating his rematch earns you the Maestro title.

The encounter runs in two stages. The first clash is the Elite Pathfinder Challenge at recommended level 45, and the harder rematch pushes his whole team up to level 65. Both stages share a five-minute time limit, so damage needs to land fast.

Wendell’s team and element weaknesses

Wendell fields the same four Highland Form Aniimo every time. Each one carries the Grass and Wind elements, which leaves the entire team open to Fire, Lightning, and Light damage. Lightning is especially strong here because it resists Wind and deals increased damage in return.

Because the type matchup is so lopsided, a single well-built Fire, Light, or Lightning DPS can tear through all four. Strong picks that cover the Fire and Lightning slots include Scorchhowl, Magmarex, Fulmintis, and Fenmane. A Lightning attacker doubles up on the advantage since it shrugs off the Wind moves Wendell throws out.

Counter each of Wendell’s Aniimo

Shut down Tubster’s Gale Guard shield

Tubster uses Gale Guard to enter a defensive stance that cuts the damage it takes, and once the charge finishes it gains a shield that makes it far tougher to remove. Interrupt the charge with a crowd control effect such as Sleep, Stun, Paralysis, or Freeze. Stopping it before the shield forms leaves a clean window to burn it down.

Interrupt Cornet’s Wind Bomb Rush

Cornet is the most dangerous Aniimo on the team. Its Wind Bomb Rush fires a continuous barrage that can delete a chunk of your health, and it can hover above the ground where melee attackers cannot reach it. Do not try to tank through it. Hit Cornet with crowd control to cut the barrage short or force it out of the air, then punish it on the ground.

Dash out of Tromber and Chirpi’s Tornado

Tromber and Chirpi can both cast Tornado, which steadily pulls your Aniimo toward it while dealing damage. Use a mobility skill that dashes toward the enemy or straight out of the funnel. Escaping the radius quickly stops the repeated chip damage you take while being dragged to the center.

An Aniimo that reduces shield strength and healing keeps your damage from being erased, which matters most in the level 65 rematch where Wendell is noticeably tankier.

A reliable rematch team and battle order

A rotation of Turbo, Somniwing, Glacy, and Scorchhowl clears the rematch cleanly. The two support Aniimo keep you alive while Scorchhowl supplies the Fire damage that melts Wendell’s Grass and Wind lineup.

Open with Turbo to lay down defensive shields and soak the early Wind burst while the enemy team is still gathered.
Swap to Somniwing to drop a continuous healing and energy regeneration field. That keeps Scorchhowl topped up and supplies the EP you need to keep casting.

Bring in Scorchhowl and attack the weakness. Its Fire skills hit every member of the team for heavy damage, so focus whichever Aniimo is active and break their lines.

Build skill energy and save Scorchhowl’s ultimate for the high-threat targets, March and Rhapsody. A single charged hit can do huge numbers against their weakness, closing out each fight before the timer becomes a problem.

Fall back to the support rotation whenever your HP drops or a shield expires, then cycle back to Scorchhowl. Repeat until all four of Wendell’s Aniimo are down.
