Unbound Kina is the tradable form of Kina in Aion 2, the version that works in the Market and Kina Chests and can be moved freely between your own characters and accounts. Because it feeds the player economy and can be exchanged for premium Quna, it drops far less often than the bound version, and only a handful of activities pay it out.

Quick answer: Unbound Kina comes from open-world, and Abyss kills (200–400 each), guaranteed boss-cube rewards in Transcendence, Sanctuary, and Expedition (Conquest) dungeons at level 45, and selling tradable items on the Market.

Unbound Kina vs Kina (Bound)

Aion 2 has two distinct items for the same currency, and they look almost alike in your Cube. The client describes regular, unbound Kina as usable for Market transactions and Kina Chest (Substance Morph). Kina (Bound) is identified as the same currency, but restricted in some content. That difference determines what you can do with each version.

  • Unbound Kina works on the Market, World Market, and Personal Trading, and can be sent to alts or other accounts.
  • Kina (Bound) stays on the character that earned it and only covers in-game progression costs such as enhancement.
  • When a cost accepts both, bound Kina is spent first, so you never burn the tradable version on routine expenses.

Quests, Duties, Sealed Dungeons, and most leveling content pay the bound version, which is why building a reserve of unbound Kina takes deliberate effort rather than general play.

Using the Market to sell items or run the Kina–Quna Exchange requires an active Membership. Without it, a free account can still earn Kina from drops and cubes but cannot list items for other players.

Open-world monsters and the Abyss

Every enemy you defeat in the open world has a chance to drop materials or gear, and each kill pays a small amount of unbound Kina directly. Expect roughly 200 to 400 Kina per kill, shown in chat as an “Acquired Kina” notification, so this is slow but available from the very start of your character’s life.

The Abyss works the same way and packs in large groups of monsters, which makes it denser for farming. It also runs open-world PvP, so other players can interrupt you, and the trade-off is worthwhile mainly once your character can defend itself. Hunting doubles up well with collecting Refining Stones, Pet Souls, and other loot you were already farming.

Field hunting is subject to a daily cap of 1,000,000 Kina per character. Once a character hits it, normal field monsters stop dropping Kina and items for the rest of the day, which is the main reason extra characters each add their own farming ceiling.

Dungeon boss-cube rewards

Endgame dungeons provide the biggest dependable payouts. Clear the bosses in Transcendence, Sanctuary, or Expedition (Conquest), and the cube always gives unbound Kina; ordinary dungeons do not guarantee it. Each requires a level 45 character and a minimum item level, putting them out of reach during normal leveling.

DungeonRequirementWeekly runsUnbound Kina
Transcendence1,600 item level10100,000 each
Sanctuary2,500 item power1100,000
Expedition (Conquest)Level 45Odyle Energy limitedFrom cube

Ten Transcendence clears add up to a million Kina a week on their own. Sanctuary matches the per-run figure but only allows a single weekly clear and demands far higher item power. Expedition (Conquest) cubes cost Odyle Energy to open, so the practical limit there is how much Energy you have banked rather than a fixed run count.

Selling items on the Market

You cannot choose which currency an activity hands you, but you can convert surplus loot into unbound Kina by selling it to other players. The Market opens at level 45 and takes anything tradable: Unique armor that is not Soul-bound, higher-tier Manastones, gathered materials, and crafted goods all fetch a price.

This becomes the main endgame source once the fixed payouts thin out. It also depends entirely on player demand, so check current listings before you list, and hold rarer drops for when the economy values them. Selling to NPC vendors instead pays bound Kina, so route valuable items to the Market when you want the tradable version.

Confirming you earned the right type

Look at the currency tooltips in your Cube: the unbound entry says it works for Market purchases and Kina Chest, while the bound entry notes that some content excludes it. To verify which one you have, try transferring it through shared storage to an alt or listing an item on the Market; bound Kina cannot be moved between characters.

Putting it together, weekly dungeon activity alone yields around two million unbound Kina once your character reaches 2,500 item power, with everything else coming from steady field hunting beneath the daily cap and whatever you trade away on the Market.
