Unique gear in AION 2 stops at +15 through normal enhancement. Amplifying is the track that carries a maxed Unique piece past that cap, using Amplify Stone (Unique) plus Kina. Each step has its own success chance and its own price, and a failed attempt does not destroy the item or drop its level. It only burns the materials and raises your chance on the next try.
Quick answer: Amplify Unique gear after +15 using Amplify Stone (Unique) and Kina. Pieces hold 1, 3 or 5 levels by item level, and a no-fail +1 to +5 run costs 62 stones and 7,900,000 Kina.
When amplifying unlocks
Amplifying becomes available for a Unique item only after it reaches +15. Use the regular Enhancement menu to bring the gear to +15 first; this unlocks that item’s Amplify track. Enhancement opens at level 9, and Substance Morph, which lets you craft Amplify Stones, opens at level 10.
The same five-step curve applies to every slot that can amplify, from weapons and guards to armor and accessories. What changes between pieces is how many of those steps the item actually has.

Add to Google Preferences →How many amplify levels your gear has
The number of amplify levels a Unique piece carries is tied to its item level. Low item level gear tops out at a single amplify level, while endgame pieces run the full five.
| Item level | Amplify levels |
|---|---|
| 54 to 62 | 1 |
| 70 to 78 | up to 3 |
| 86 to 102 | up to 5 |
Some crafted variants carry a shorter track than their item level suggests. A crafted item level 70 earring may stop at +1, and a crafted item level 86 earring may stop at +3, so check the piece in the Amplify menu before you plan a full run.
Amplify success chances and costs per step
Every slot shares one curve. The first amplify level is the kindest, at a 66% chance, and the odds fall at each step while the Kina fee and stone count climb. When an attempt fails, your chance on the next try at the same level rises by the bonus shown, and that bonus shrinks as you climb.
| Step | Success chance | Cost per attempt | Bonus on failure |
|---|---|---|---|
| +1 | 66% | 600,000 Kina + 6 stones | +5% |
| +2 | 50% | 900,000 Kina + 9 stones | +4% |
| +3 | 33% | 1,400,000 Kina + 12 stones | +3% |
| +4 | 25% | 2,000,000 Kina + 15 stones | +2% |
| +5 | 20% | 3,000,000 Kina + 20 stones | +1% |
The last level is the real wall. The +5 step starts at a 20% chance and adds only 1% per failure, so an unlucky streak there can swallow a lot of stones before it lands. The cost per attempt is identical whether you succeed or fail, so each failed +5 try costs another 3,000,000 Kina and 20 stones.
Total cost to reach +5
If every attempt on a five-level piece succeeds on the first try, the full run from +1 to +5 costs 62 Amplify Stone (Unique) and 7,900,000 Kina. That is the floor, not the expectation. Because the later steps can fail, most pieces will cost more stones and Kina than that before they finish, with the overrun landing almost entirely on the +4 and +5 attempts.
How to make Amplify Stones
Amplify Stone (Unique) is a Unique Miscellaneous item at item level 84, and you craft it through Substance Morph. The recipe sits in the Growth Materials tab and turns 4 Amplify Stone Fragment (Unique) (Bound) and 2,500 Enhance Stone into one finished Amplify Stone. The recipe exists for both factions.
Since one full five-level run needs 62 stones even with no failures, and every stone eats 2,500 Enhance Stone, your Enhance Stone income is effectively the bottleneck on amplifying. Plan your fragment farming and your Enhance Stone stockpile together.
Where to get Amplify Stones and fragments
Fragments come mainly from weekly raids and dungeons, with higher difficulties improving your odds of a drop, and certain high-level bosses can drop fragments directly. You then combine them through Substance Morph into full stones. Most Amplify Stones and fragments are bound, so you cannot buy a finished stone off another player and skip the grind.
The Legacy of Flame Daeva Pass also hands out Amplify Stone (Unique) [Bound] and Sync Stone (Unique) [Bound] across its reward tiers. Its Basic tier costs 2,000,000 Kina, and you claim each unlocked tier from the pass screen as you earn pass levels.

What each amplify level adds
Amplifying layers a stat gain on top of the flat stats you earned from enhancing. Weapons and accessories gain Attack, armor gains Defense and HP, and each level also adds a small percentage stat. On an item level 54 accessory, the first amplify level grants Attack 4, Defense 8 and Damage Boost 0.5%. An item level 54 armor piece instead gets Defense 16, HP 16, Damage Tolerance 0.5% and HP increase 0.5%.
Each amplify level is worth 5 gear score, against 1 for each ordinary enhancement level, so every landed amplify is a sizeable jump toward a gear score threshold.
How to confirm an amplify worked
On a success, the item’s amplify count rises by one, its stat line gains the amounts above, and its gear score goes up by 5. On a failure, the item keeps its current amplify level, the Kina and stones for that attempt are gone, and the displayed success chance for the next attempt at that level rises by the bonus from the table. Nothing you spent earlier is lost, and the item can never slide backward through amplifying.
