Raw Leather is a Common crafting material in Aion 2 that feeds straight into Strong Leather and, from there, into armor. Despite the low grade, it is slow to accumulate because ordinary monsters drop it at a very low rate. The quickest supply comes from the Market, but several monsters and named targets give you a reliable farm if you want to save your Kina.

Quick answer: Buy Raw Leather from the Market for instant quantity, kill the Level 45 named targets Furious Saursus, Bloodfang Pnyn, and Predator Garsan at 62.2% per kill, or grind dense Verteron mob packs at 3.9% each.

Raw Leather basics and requirements

Raw Leather unlocks at character Level 15 and both Elyos and Asmodians can use it. It is tradable through the Market and personal trade, and it stacks high, so there is no reason to hold back on stockpiling once you start farming.

  • Grade: Common
  • Required level: 15
  • Maximum stack: 10,000
  • Trade: tradable and personal trade
  • NPC sell price: 9 Kina

That 9 Kina vendor price is low against what crafters will pay, so sell surplus on the Market rather than dumping it to an NPC.

Buy Raw Leather from the Market

If you need leather right now, the Market is the first place to check. Players list Raw Leather and the processed Strong Leather regularly, so you can buy the exact amount a recipe calls for instead of spending a long session clearing mobs. This matters most when you are only a few units short of finishing an armor craft.

Compare the open listings before you commit so you do not overpay. Leather sits in steady demand for crafting, so prices move with that demand.

Named targets with the highest drop rates

Named monsters carry far higher per-kill chances than ordinary mobs. Three of them drop Raw Leather at 62.2%, which dwarfs the 3.9% you see on regular enemies in the early regions.

These Level 45 targets take a long time to respawn, so they are a poor choice for nonstop solo farming. Count them as extra kills when you are nearby, and bring a full party of players at Level 45 or higher to defeat them quickly.

A 62.2% chance may look appealing, but camping one named spawn can produce less leather per hour than farming a packed mob route. Go for the named kill only if it has already spawned.

Three dense Verteron farming routes

For steady output without hunting named targets, Verteron gives you tight mob packs and fast respawns. The goal on any route is low downtime. Pull a pack, clear it, rotate to the next, and the first group is back up by the time you loop around. Keep pulls to a size you can kill cleanly, since deaths and long recovery cut your total kills more than they help.

Western Cantas Valley (Stonebeak Crestlich)

Teleport to Coastal Camp and run east into Western Cantas Valley. Circle-pull the Stonebeak Crestlich packs, with Gentle Popoku mixed in. They cluster tightly, die fast, and respawn quickly, which keeps your kill count high.

Garden of the Illusion God (Confused Ursus)

Teleport to Pilgrim’s Rest and follow the trail down into the valley. Target the Confused Ursus groups, the large blue bears. Their density suits big area-of-effect pulls, and a second pack sits just down the slope so you can rotate between the two while the first respawns.

Pilgrim’s Ridge (Ridge Ursus and bees)

Use the Verteron Fortress Valley waypoint as your starting point, then glide off the cliff ledge in the direction of Pilgrim’s Ridge. Loop through Ridge Ursus, Ridge Violent Ursus, and the bees nearby. This path provides crafting and cooking materials along with leather.

Raw Leather drop rates by region

Per-kill rates climb in the higher-level regions, so where you farm matters as much as what you farm. Raw percentage is not the whole story, though. Monster density, respawn speed, and how fast you can kill decide your real leather-per-hour.

RegionOrdinary mob rateAvailability
Verteron3.9%Global
Altgard3.9%Global
Chaotic Lower Reshanta3.5%–8.4%Global
Chaotic Middle Reshanta4.7%–11.7%Global
Eltnen7.8%Korea/Taiwan only
Morheim7.8%Korea/Taiwan only

As of October 2026, Eltnen and Morheim are included in the Chapter 1 update, which is available in Korea and Taiwan but not in the global version. For global players able to clear it efficiently, Chaotic Middle Reshanta offers the highest ordinary rates. In Verteron, leather drops from several groups: Ursus and Slink; Karnif, followed by Tog; Zaif and Coradon, followed by Brax and Swarm. Pick a location where multiple suitable targets are near one another, rather than focusing on a single type.

Other sources: Shulak Loot Bundle and Supply Requests

Leather also comes from sources other than monster kills. Opening a Shulak Loot Bundle (Bound) gives you a 14.8% chance to get Raw Leather. If you have the bundles in your inventory and need leather for an armor craft, open them before going out to farm.

Raw Leather also turns into progression currency through Supply Requests. Submitting 5 Raw Leather returns 380 Abyss Points and 100 Enhance Stones. Keep enough leather for your crafting plans first, then route any surplus here.

What Raw Leather is used for

The main purpose is Strong Leather, produced through Armorsmithing, which then goes into armor crafting. Two recipes exist, and the higher-level one processes bulk quantities in a single action.

Armorsmithing levelInputOutput
Level 12 Raw Leather1 Strong Leather
Level 2520 Raw Leather10 Strong Leather

Because leather is slow to gather, plan the gear you intend to craft before spending it. You will know a farm worked when Raw Leather appears in your inventory after a kill or a bundle opening, and you can confirm the conversion when Strong Leather lands in your bag after an Armorsmithing craft. For most players the efficient path is simple: buy from the Market when you need a quick top-up, run a dense Verteron loop for a steady supply, and grab the named targets whenever they are already up.
