Getting from level 10 to 30 in MapleStory Classic is mostly a question of picking the right map for your level and turning monster drops into mesos. The best spots pack high-density spawns with the odd rare drop you can resell, so you climb levels and bankroll your first real gear at the same time.
Quick answer: Grind Kerning City Construction Sites and the Henesys pig maps in the low teens, move to the Green Mushroom trees in Ellinia and the Kerning Subway Bubblings through the late teens and early twenties, then finish on Rocky Road III near Perion. Sell scrolls, Wooden Tops, and Fish Spears to players for mesos.
Set up a store permit, a pet, and starter quests first
Before you commit to grinding, get two things in place. A Regular Store Permit lets you open a shop in the Free Market and list up to 12 items at once, which is how you turn equipment and scroll drops into real mesos instead of dumping them on an NPC for pocket change. A pet such as the Brown Kitty auto-loots drops, so you spend your time attacking rather than walking over items.

Clear the early Victoria Island questlines while you are at it. Quest givers like Dr. Winston, Betty in Ellinia, and Bruce in Henesys hand out EXP, mesos, and starter potions, which keeps your money for upgrades rather than supplies during these first levels.

Add to Google Preferences →Training maps by level bracket
Each bracket below has a spot that matches the level of its main monster. Use the table to find where you belong right now, then read the details for the mobs, access route, and payout.
| Levels | Map | Main monsters |
|---|---|---|
| 10-18 | Kerning City Construction Sites | Green Mushrooms, low-level mobs |
| 10-18 | The Pig Beach, Hill West, Rain Forest | Pigs, Ribbon Pigs |
| 12-18 | Tree Dungeon, Forest Up North IV | Green Mushrooms, Slimes |
| 12-25 | Damp / Deep Forest (Sleepywood) | Jr. Neckies, Octopuses, Dark Axe Stumps |
| 15-25 | Kerning Subway, Line 1 Area 1 | Bubblings |
| 20-25 | Tree Dungeon, Forest Up North II | Green and Horny Mushrooms |
| 23-30 | Rocky Road III (Perion) | Axe Stumps, Dark Axe Stumps, Wild Boars |
Kerning City Construction Sites (10-18)
Both the Kerning City Construction Site and the Construction Site North of Kerning City work here. Lower platforms hold weaker monsters for your first few levels, while the upper platforms spawn Green Mushrooms. Those mushrooms drop Claw Attack Scroll 60% scrolls, which sell for around 50k mesos, and Pan Lids worth roughly 10k-25k.
Pig maps near Henesys (10-18)
The Pig Beach, A Hill West of Henesys, and The Rain Forest East of Henesys all run Pigs and Ribbon Pigs. The Pig Beach sits behind a hidden portal in the Three-Way Road-Split on Victoria Road. These monsters give strong EXP for the level and drop Pig’s Heads, Pig’s Ribbons, leather, animal fossils, and ore.

Hold your Pig’s Heads instead of selling them to an NPC. They feed Maya’s quest and sell to other players for far more.
Green Mushroom Tree, Forest Up North IV (12-18)
Reach this Ellinia tree dungeon through The Forest North of Ellinia. It is almost entirely Green Mushrooms with a few slimes, spread across vertical platforms. The clean spawn makes it ideal for a party splitting platforms and for farming the same scrolls and Pan Lids the construction sites drop.

Damp and Deep Forest near Sleepywood (12-25)
Head toward Sleepywood for the Damp Tree Forest and Swampy Land in a Deep Forest. The bottom platforms hold Jr. Neckies, Octopuses, and Dark Axe Stumps, giving a wide level spread you can stay on while you grow.

Kerning Subway Bubblings, Line 1 Area 1 (15-25)
Enter through the ticket barrier at the Kerning City Subway station to reach Line 1 Area 1, a flat single-mob map stuffed with Bubblings. The density is excellent and Bubblings can drop the Fish Spear, a Weapon Attack +39 polearm that early warriors want. The downside is heavy contact damage, so this map burns through potions faster than the others.
Green and Horny Mushroom Tree, Forest Up North II (20-25)
Another Ellinia tree dungeon, this one mixes Green Mushrooms with the higher-level Horny Mushrooms. The jump in monster level brings better EXP and a drop pool of level 20-30 weapons and armor you can equip or resell.

Rocky Road III near Perion (23-30)
Located on Victoria Road near Perion, this map has Axe Stumps on its upper section, with Wild Boars and Dark Axe Stumps below. Dark Axe Stumps can drop the Wooden Top, a throwing star with Attack +19 that sells for about 100k mesos. Wild Boars drop teeth, ore, level 25-30 equipment, and HP and MP potions often enough that the potions they provide can cover your costs. As a result, grinding to 30 can break even or turn a profit.
High-value drops to keep and sell
Mesos in this range come from reselling rare drops to players, not from NPC sell prices. List these in your Free Market store rather than offloading them to a shopkeeper.
| Drop | Source | Rough value |
|---|---|---|
| Claw Attack Scroll 60% | Green Mushrooms | ~50k mesos |
| Wooden Top (Attack +19) | Dark Axe Stumps | ~100k mesos |
| Pan Lid (W.Def +10) | Green Mushrooms | 10k-25k |
| Fish Spear (W.Atk +39) | Bubblings | Sell to warriors |
Quest ETC items follow the same rule. Pig’s Heads, Pig’s Ribbons, Bubbling’s huge bubbles, and firewood are worth far more to other players than to an NPC, so trade them rather than vendor them.
Cut potion costs with Red Potions and Lemons
Potion spending is the main drain on your mesos at this stage, so buy the cheapest recovery per meso. Use Red Potions for HP, since each restores 100 HP. For MP, buy Lemons instead of Blue Potions.
A Lemon restores around 150 MP for 150 mesos, or 1 meso per MP. A Blue Potion restores 200 MP for 220 mesos, which works out to 1.1 mesos per MP. Over a full session the Lemon math keeps noticeably more mesos in your pocket, and paired with the potion drops from Wild Boars on Rocky Road III, your supply costs can stay close to zero.
Follow the brackets in order and you will arrive at level 30 with a stock of sellable drops, a steady meso balance, and gear ready for your second-job advancement.
