Duels in AION 2 are quick one-on-one fights between two players who both agree to the match. They settle bragging rights rather than loot, so treat them as practice and friendly competition rather than a way to farm anything.
Quick answer: Click the other player’s character or name, choose Challenge to Duel under their health bar, and wait for them to accept. Win by cutting their health to about 10%.

Start a duel with another player
Click the player you want to fight, either their character model in the world or their name. A small menu appears by the lower left of their health bar.
Select Challenge to Duel from that menu to send the request. The fight begins only after the other player accepts. If they decline or ignore it, nothing happens, so you cannot force anyone into a match.

Add to Google Preferences →Duel rules you need to know
Once both players agree, the match runs under a fixed set of conditions. Three rules decide how the fight plays out and when it ends.
Stay inside the perimeter
When the duel starts, blue lines appear around both players to mark the arena boundary. Step outside those lines and a 10-second warning timer begins. Fail to return before it runs out and you forfeit the match, so do not chase or retreat past the edge.
Nobody dies, health decides the winner
Players cannot be killed during a duel. The winner is the one who brings the opponent’s health down to roughly 10%. At that point the match ends and both players are back to normal.
Items and healing are allowed
Every item works in a duel, including Life Serums and Healing Potions. Because both players can keep topping up their health, closely matched fights can drag on for a long time.
Clear healing items off your quickslots before a duel if you want a short, decisive fight instead of a stalemate.

Duel rewards and where to earn PvP loot instead
Duels hand out nothing. There is no currency, no gear, and no points for winning, so the only payoff is the fight itself with friends or rivals.
If you want PvP that actually pays, two other activities do. The Arena offers structured matches, while the Abyss lets you ambush other players for Abyss Points on each kill.

Abyss Points are the honor currency earned through open-world Abyss fights, field events, and other PvP activity. Dueling does not grant them, which is the clearest sign that a duel is for fun and nothing else.
