Saltitude’s high-mobility action game shows off chain swings, sword combat, and oversized bosses ahead of a 2027 Steam launch.

Little Prince Tyger is a 2D side-scrolling action-platformer rendered in pixel art, built by developer Saltitude and published by Team17. Its reveal trailer runs just under a minute and packs in fast platforming, sword-and-projectile combat soaked in blood effects, and a string of large boss fights before closing on a 2027 release window.

Quick answer: Little Prince Tyger is a pixel-art action-platformer from Saltitude and Team17, coming to PC via Steam in 2027, with wishlisting open now.

What Little Prince Tyger is

You play as a small pixel protagonist with a yellow hood and light-colored clothing, carrying a blade and firing projectiles. The same character appears in the end-screen key art as a blonde archer wrapped in bandages, drawing a bow inside a monster’s open maw. That dual depiction sets the tone: cute sprite work layered over grotesque, blood-heavy imagery.

The trailer opens on a forest altar where a glowing pod erupts into red particles and roots, then moves to a rainy nighttime scene where the tiny hero stands beside a colossal bird creature with a bulging, bloodshot eye and a bleeding beak. These early moments frame the game’s mix of surreal fantasy and body horror before any gameplay is shown.

Movement and combat shown in the trailer

Platforming leans on high mobility. The character runs and dashes through sunlit forests, swings from hanging chains, slides diagonally down steep slopes, and uses portals to traverse levels. Coin pickups and a treasure chest appear in a dark underground chamber, where white wall spikes force precise timing around the chain swings.

Combat combines melee and ranged options. The hero slashes forest insectoid enemies, performs downward strikes, and fires projectiles with an on-screen crosshair reticle during aiming moments. Hits land with heavy blood-splatter effects throughout, and one sequence shows the protagonist thrusting a weapon into a glowing red node tied to the altar motif.

The boss fights

A large share of the footage is given to boss encounters, many of them multi-stage. The one-eyed bird beast from the opening is the first; later cuts run through a floating mechanical bell, drifting statue faces, and winged pink eyeball creatures across surreal, sculpture-filled levels.

  • A theatrical antlered puppet, shown on a stage, firing green orbs.
  • A segmented, armored centipede or worm that tunnels through the floor.
  • A giant snarling mammal, read as a rabid rat or beaver, biting into platforms.

The montage ends on a quieter cinematic note, with a silhouetted wolf or beast howling toward a pale moon as embers rise, before the title card arrives.

Release window and platform

The closing card confirms a 2027 launch and points players to Steam, where wishlisting is available now. PC via Steam is the only platform named so far, and no exact release date, month, or additional platforms have been confirmed.

For now, the reveal functions as a first look rather than a dated announcement. Expect more concrete details, including a firmer release window, closer to 2027 as Saltitude and Team17 continue to share updates.
