PORTALS is a Roblox arena shooter built around placing and traveling through portals during combat. You open a blue and an orange portal on compatible surfaces, then move through them to reposition instantly, letting you flank opponents or escape a bad angle mid-fight. The footage from a full session shows the opening tutorial, the lobby and matchmaking flow, and a complete 2v2 match played to a win.

Quick answer: PORTALS is a fast round-based shooter where you place portals with E, walk through them with W, shoot with the left mouse button, and win casual matches by being first to three rounds in a 2v2.

What the portal mechanic does

Portals connect two points in the map. Compatible walls are highlighted with a red outline during the tutorial, and once a portal is open it appears as a glowing blue or orange rectangle. Aiming at a highlighted wall and pressing E drops the first portal, and aiming at a second surface and pressing E again opens the connecting end. Walking into one exits out of the other.

Portals can be opened, closed, and traversed during a live round, not just in the tutorial. That means you can shoot through an opening or dive through it to appear behind an enemy. Pressing Q closes a portal you have placed.

WMove forward / walk through a portal
LMBFire your weapon

The tutorial closes by having you step through your own portal and shoot a stationary training dummy, labeled a “noob,” with the left mouse button. A “Tutorial complete!” message confirms it is done, and joining for the first time awards a “Joined!” badge.

The lobby, matchmaking, and loadout

After the tutorial you drop into a main lobby with menus for Loadout, Items, Shop, and Gadgets, along with a “Create Party +” option. Pressing the green Play button starts a search. The casual queue shown is an All Regions – 2v2 mode, and the lobby tracks a coins currency, reading 2.2K in the session.

Once a match is found, a pre-game screen lists both teams and shows your equipped weapon with its stats. The starting primary is the Assault Rifle, a standard fully automatic weapon described as reliable at every range.

Assault Rifle stats (Level 1)

StatValue
Body damage16
Headshot damage24
Fire rate7.4 / s
Magazine30
Range100
Body shots to kill7

Players carry 100 HP, and the Assault Rifle takes seven body shots to down a full-health opponent, so headshots at 24 damage each close fights far faster. The weapon can be leveled, with the screen showing a 1 / 100 progress track.

How a 2v2 match plays out

Casual matches are first to three rounds won, flagged on screen as “FIRST TO 3.” Each round is a short, direct engagement where portals are used to reach enemies quickly. In the recorded match, the team of Rondoblox and hannahb12z faced Emma and RealJoshhz.

Round one opened with a portal set up to cross the arena, ending with Emma eliminated and the round taken in seven seconds.

Round two used a blue-to-orange portal link to close on RealJoshhz, who was eliminated in five seconds to make it 2-0.

Round three reached match point, and both opponents were eliminated to trigger a final killcam and a 3-0 result before returning to the lobby.

Taken together, the footage paints PORTALS as a quick, aim-plus-movement shooter where the portal placement system is the defining twist. Rounds are brief, the starting Assault Rifle is forgiving across ranges, and the deciding skill is using portals to reach a better angle before your opponent can react.
