Anime Mysterious is a Roblox tower defense game where you collect units modeled on popular anime characters, build a party, and deploy them along a path to stop waves of enemies. Every stage ends the same way, by destroying the opposing base, and each clear hands back resources you spend to make your roster stronger for the next run.

Quick answer: Start in Story Mode to learn the loop and farm Jewels, spend Jewels on summon banners, push the Battle Pass to level 50, then apply Traits, Stat Rerolls, and Evolution to your core units.

The core battle loop in Anime Mysterious

Inside a stage you summon units at spawn points along the path. As your units defeat enemies, you earn Cash, a temporary resource that only exists for that battle. You spend that Cash on mid-match upgrades to make placed units hit harder or survive longer. When the match ends, any Cash and any mid-battle upgrades reset.

The stage clears the moment the enemy base is destroyed. The screen then shows a Won result with the rewards you earned, including totals like Total Damage, Money Earned, and Battle Pass XP. Those permanent rewards are what carry over between runs.

Clearing stages drops Jewels, Coins, crafting materials, and evolution materials. Jewels fund summons, while materials and evolution items feed the long-term upgrades covered further down.

Game modes and where to start

Several play areas are available, each with a different difficulty level. New players should stay in Story Mode first, then move up once their roster can handle tougher enemy layouts.

  • Story Mode — Low-pressure stages built to teach the mechanics and farm early resources. This is the starting point.
  • Mysterious Mode — Harder enemy configurations that expect a leveled and partly evolved team.
  • Challenge Mode — High-difficulty content for a developed roster.
  • Raid Mode — Shown in the menus but still in development.

Story, Mysterious, and Challenge modes can award Evolution items, and the in-game shop sells them as well. You can get them without waiting for Raids to unlock.

Summoning units with Jewels

Units come from summon banners, which you roll using Jewels. Each pull returns a random character from that banner’s pool. Characters are split into rarities, and rarity sets the pull rate, so higher-rarity units appear less often. Some of the strongest units are summon-only, which makes banners the main route to a top-end party.

Bank your Jewels from Story Mode clears and Battle Pass rewards rather than spending them a few at a time, so you can roll when you have a meaningful stack.

Pushing the Battle Pass to level 50

Completing quests earns Battle Pass XP, which climbs a 50-level reward ladder. The payouts matter early because they include full units, Jewels, Coins, Trait Rerolls, and Stat Rerolls. Getting the Battle Pass to level 50 unlocks the complete set of rewards, which is one of the fastest ways to stock the resources you need to improve units.

Traits, Stat Rerolls, and Evolution

Units can improve beyond leveling through three systems: Traits provide passive stat bonuses, Stat Rerolls change a unit’s stat distribution, and Evolution boosts base stats and grants new passives. Use Trait Rerolls in the Upgrades area to apply Traits or change them. Stage clears and Battle Pass levels award these rerolls. They are scarce, so save them for your strongest units.

Trait effects

Traits can affect placement cost, skill damage, critical damage, attack, critical chance, attack speed, and other stats. Here is the complete lineup and the effect of each:

TraitEffect
Absolute Ego+200% ATK, +20% ATK speed, +15% crit chance, +30% crit dmg, +25% skill dmg, −15% cost; limit 1 per battle
Twin StarsSpawn 2 units, −15% spawn cooldown, −10% cost
Efficient King+30% ATK speed, +15% speed, −20% skill cooldown, −10% spawn cooldown
Phantom Blade+50% crit dmg, +25% crit chance, −10% ATK speed
Eternal Guardian+50% health, +15% evasion, +10% range, −5% cost
Aura Explosion+30% skill dmg, +15% range, −25% skill cooldown, −25% cost
Punch Explosion+10% ATK, +10% ATK speed, −10% health
Cross X+10% crit chance, +15% crit dmg, +10% ATK
Energy Arrow+10% ATK speed, +10% speed
Health Demon+15% ATK, +15% health, +10% cost
Precision Shooter+20% range
Executioner+30% crit dmg
Skilled−15% skill cooldown
Speed Increase+20% speed
Human AS+10% ATK speed
Human Range+10% range
Human Damage+10% damage
Human Health+15% health

Absolute Ego is the strongest Trait, but it caps that unit to a single placement, so it suits one high-value damage dealer rather than a unit you want to spam. Skilled is a solid, low-pressure Trait while you learn the game.

Stat Rerolls and Evolution

Stat Rerolls randomize a unit’s statistics, so you keep rolling until a spread fits the unit’s job. Evolution is the heavier upgrade. Eligible units consume specific materials to gain a higher base stat spread and brand-new passive abilities, which makes it one of the most effective ways to push a core unit into end-game shape. Evolution materials come from clearing stages or from the shop.

Team building and Cash costs

A party stuffed with only high-rarity units backfires because each one carries a steep placement and upgrade cost in Cash. Early waves then stall while you wait to afford anything. Bring one or two cheap units to hold the opening waves and generate Cash, then deploy your expensive carries once you can pay for them. Watch unit synergy too, since two upgrade-hungry units in the same party fight each other for the same Cash.

Best beginner units to prioritize

For a new roster, lean on accessible damage and economy picks before chasing top-tier Mythics. These are strong starting choices:

UnitRole
Barate / SasukoEpic DPS, early carry
Spood (Yen)Farm / economy
Kizao / TojoLegendary DPS

Top-end units to aim for

Once you have Jewels to roll and materials to evolve, the strongest damage dealers are worth building toward. Last Hier (Awakened) is the standout Mythic, running a burn-and-self-buff cycle that scales hard with Absolute Ego. Yuto (Pure Love) copies damage stats to buff himself even higher, and Jogo (Six-eye) is built around rushing his Six-eye evolution to unlock his ultimate.

Akazu and Qin both flex between damage, tanking, and utility, and pair well with Eternal Guardian or Twin Stars, while Gyuro is one of the best single-target options for melting bosses. For your frontline, Bory (Awakened) holds up thanks to damage reflection and an ignore-death passive.

A first-week progression path

Run Story Mode stages to learn the combat pacing and build a basic lineup. Lead with cheap units to stabilize early waves, and confirm each clear on the Won screen with its reward list.
Farm Jewels and standard materials from those clears, and complete daily and Battle Pass quests. Keep leveling the Battle Pass toward 50 to collect its units and reroll items.
Spend saved Jewels on summon banners to pull stronger units, remembering that the rarest characters have the lowest pull rates.
Reserve Trait Rerolls, Stat Rerolls, and Evolution for your core units. These limited materials are best spent on the carries you field, so develop a small team before distributing resources more widely.

Follow that order and you will clear Story Mode comfortably, then step into Mysterious and Challenge content with a party that can take the harder enemy layouts. From there, the loop stays the same, with every clear funding the next round of upgrades. You can jump in directly on the official Anime Mysterious Roblox page.
