Norgan handles fast travel differently from the rest of Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen. The frozen north has its own warp points, its own rules about what you can place, and a handful of moments where the game simply refuses to let you jump. Once you know where the crystals stand and how the prompt works, crossing the snowfields stops eating your time.

Quick answer: There are nine fixed Norgan Portcrystals. From the Map, highlight a crystal and choose Use Ferrystone. Confirm with Yes when asked “Use Eternal Ferrystone to travel to Norgan Portcrystal?” You’ll appear right next to it.
All 9 fixed Norgan Portcrystals
Every fixed Norgan Portcrystal is a tall purple stone, marked on the map by a small blue crystal icon. On the Map each one is labelled “Norgan Portcrystal: <place>”, so the cursor label reads something like “Norgan Portcrystal: Norgandian Settlement”. You first reach most of them in the course of the region’s main quests.
| Portcrystal | Where it stands | First reached in |
|---|---|---|
| Norgandian Settlement | At the village bonfire, close to Hal the smith and Jiera’s lean-to | Chilling Tidings |
| Rivercave Campground | At the cave camp in Valgr Ravine, along the route climbing toward Mountain Stronghold | Rumbles in the North |
| Shrine of Wisdom | Northwest of Beorcan Stronghold, by the outer edge of the ruin beyond the Sphinx’s shrine | Seeking the Sage |
| Northwall Campground | By the cave camp past Mountain Stronghold’s gate | Sealed History |
| Sealed Study | In the open air at the top of the stairs descending into Sealed Study | Sealed History |
| Gagana’s Grotto | At Gagana’s Grotto, reached through the Icefall Tunnels | The Castle in the Ice |
| Lorade Castle | On a ruin ledge in Snowfall Valley Cavity, near the castle’s great double doors | The Castle in the Ice |
| Castletown Campground | Within Lorade Castletown’s gatehouse room, next to an iron portcullis | Soul Searching |
| Mordria Temple | Outside, where the long snow-covered stairway begins its climb to Mordria Temple | Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way |
The Norgandian Settlement crystal serves as the central stop, with appraisals, the smith, and the inn only a brief run away. For the region’s far side, Castletown Campground is the closest crystal for Castle Barracks Ruins and Abyss Ridge; Mordria Temple is where to begin the quest Reunion.

The Eternal Ferrystone is the one you want here, since it can be used infinitely and weighs nothing. A standard Ferrystone weighs 0.10 kg and costs 5,000 G at apothecaries and sundries shops in Vermund and Battahl.
Placing your own Norgan Portcrystals
Ordinary Portcrystals from Vermund and Battahl cannot be dropped in Norgan. Instead, the region uses portable Norgan Portcrystals, which you place yourself. A tutorial box explains this the moment Chilling Tidings completes in the Norgandian Settlement.

Placement is restricted on both sides: no more than five portable Norgan Portcrystals can be placed in the Norgan region simultaneously, and none may be set in Vermund or Battahl. Each one adds 0.50 kg to your pack. Ways to obtain them:
- A reward for completing Chilling Tidings, alongside 5,000 XP and 10,000 G
- The stone chest behind the Sphinx, which opens when Sage’s Wisdom – Riddle of the Body completes
- Among the Mordria Temple B1F treasure rooms, a large chest is in the room immediately after the one containing the 32,000 G chest
- A reward for completing Reunion

When a Ferrystone is refused
Three situations stop a Ferrystone from firing in Norgan.
Indoors
The Sealed Study prevents Ferrystone travel from inside: the game displays “Eternal Ferrystone cannot be used here.” and an OK button. Climb the stairs until you reach open air, and travel becomes available again. That is why the Sealed Study crystal is outside at the stair top, rather than inside the archive.
During a whiteout
While a whiteout blizzard rages, you cannot consult the minimap, pawns cannot guide you, and you are unable to use Ferrystones. Get under cover or wait at a camp until the storm clears.
If a whiteout catches you mid-exploration, carrying the spirit compass keeps you oriented even while location info is blacked out.
“You cannot use this at the present time.”
This warning shows on the Map after you choose Use Ferrystone, without any explanation from the game. It can come up just after an enemy encounter and during the quest Village Defense. If you get it, move away from nearby enemies and try again a little later.
Eternal Arctic Ferrystone and the Everglow Ferrystone
The tutorial “Everglow Ferrystones” reads: “Combine an Eternal Ferrystone (which enables travel to Portcrystals set in Vermund and Battahl) and an Eternal Arctic Ferrystone (enabling travel to Norgan Portcrystals) to create an Everglow Ferrystone, which can be used to travel to any and all Portcrystals set in Vermund, Battahl, and Norgan.” The travel prompt in Norgan names the Eternal Ferrystone: “Use Eternal Ferrystone to travel to Norgan Portcrystal?”
