Backrooms Morphs 2 hides 173 morphs across a chain of maze levels, from spawn and Level 0 through YIKEA, the Theater, the dungeon caves, the Poolrooms, and the Destroyed Backrooms. Most are claimed by walking up to a trophy and collecting it, but a large share sit behind locked doors, broken vents, lava gaps, portals, two bosses, and a handful of out-of-world tasks. Clearing the full list means working through those gates in the right order.

Quick answer: Collect trophies as you explore each zone, pick up every colored key and the Hammer, Sledge Hammer and Crowbar to open blocked paths, redeem all five codes, beat both bosses after reaching 100 skins, and finish the three special tasks.

Keys and tools you need before most morphs unlock

A big chunk of the 173 morphs sit behind locked doors or blocked walls. Each locked door is color-matched to a key, and you pick that key up somewhere earlier in the same zone. Grab keys the moment you see them, because the matching door is usually close by.

ItemWhat it opens
PurpleKeyPurple-locked wooden doors (Jake, Buff Doge, Green Frog)
GreenKeyGreen-locked doors in the caves and backroom halls
BlueKeyBlue-locked door near the Buff Doge morph
RedKey / YellowKeyColor-matched locks in the maze and sewer areas
Hammer / Sledge HammerSmash wall vents and wooden crates
CrowbarPry open secret doors (Purple Crab Train)
PlankLay flat to bridge pit gaps in obby corridors

The Hammer and Sledge Hammer do most of the destructive work. Use them on boarded vents and wooden crates to reveal morphs like the Green Alien Baby, which sits behind a smashable wall vent.

The Crossbow is a special case. You only need it for the two bosses, and you pick it up right before the boss room once the 100 Skins door is open.

Entering Level 0 and the early spawn morphs

Start at spawn and grab the Hazmat Guy morph tucked behind the green armchair. To reach the first stretch of morphs, you need to get into Backrooms Level 0.

Pick up the note tool near spawn. It carries the door code 0242.
Fix the fuse box by pressing E, then open the garage shutter to run into the yellow Level 0 hallway.

Work the hallway for the first batch of trophies, including the Green Dinosaur in the cactus corner and the Choo-Choo Spider Train on the golden trophy near the arcade cabinets.

Keep the note with you. The same 0242 code is entered again later at a wall hatch to free the Buzz Lightyear morph.

Using keys to open the locked-door morphs

The PurpleKey turns up on the floor in Level 0 near the classic Noob skin. Carry it to the padlocked wooden door and collect the yellow Jake the Dog morph inside. The same key later opens doors hiding the Buff Doge and Green Frog morphs, so hold onto whichever key you have until you find its matching lock.

The GreenKey appears in the cave area and on a desk later in the run, opening green-locked doors that hide the White Rainbow Friend and White Figure morphs. The BlueKey, found past a web obstacle near the Mole morph, opens the door to Buff Doge.

Zone puzzles: YIKEA, portals, lava, and switches

Several morphs are locked behind small puzzles rather than keys. The YIKEA warehouse opens when you activate a wall switch, then you climb the branded shelves to reach Slenderman, Baldi, and the Brown Tall Monster up top.

Other puzzle gates follow a simple pattern. Each one needs a specific item or action before the morph becomes reachable.

  • Battery: collect it in a dark alcove and push it into the wall socket to power the path forward.
  • Portal switch: fix the red switch marked “Fix” to open the purple portal into the pillar obby that holds the BMO morph.
  • Gasoline: grab the can in the “Cold” area and fuel the furnace to free the Ice King morph.
  • Banana: pick it up near the ladder and hand it to the Minion to unlock the Minion morph.
  • Pressure plate: drop a cardboard Box onto the red plate to open the gate past it.
  • Ink Machine: press E to activate it and unlock the Bendy morph.

Lava rooms are pure platforming. Cross the bridge or stepping stones carefully to reach morphs like the Yellow Toad and the Brown Coat Man. When a corridor ends in a wide pit, the Plank you picked up earlier lays flat to form a bridge.

Code-door and keypad morphs

Two in-world codes open specific morphs. Enter 0242 into the wall hatch to claim Buzz Lightyear. The number matches the note you grabbed back at the Level 0 entrance.

For the Red Impostor morph, read the note on the floor that shows TASK CODE: BackroomsMorphs2, then type BackroomsMorphs2 into the wall terminal. The keypad opens and the morph becomes available.

Beating Z_Letter and the Rainbow Boss

Two bosses guard a vault of morphs, and both need the Crossbow. The door to this area only opens once you have reached 100 Skins Unlocked, so clear most of the map before heading here.

Pick up the Crossbow tool just before the boss room.
Equip it and whittle the Z_Letter boss down to zero to open the door and collect the four letter morphs behind it.
Fight the Rainbow Boss with the same Crossbow. At 3000 HP it takes longer, but defeating it drops its own morph plus the silver stickman and grey alien scientist.

Special-task morphs

Three morphs sit outside the normal exploration loop. None need a key or a boss, but each has its own requirement.

  • Yellow Baby morph: click the “Invite a friend through the sign” board and open the friend list.
  • Multi-Headed Spider Train morph: At spawn, submit 1500 Candies collected across the map to the green beam.
  • Code morphs: redeem the active codes through the Codes menu on the left of the screen.

Redeemable codes for free morphs

Open the Codes tab on the left HUD, type each code exactly as shown, and hit Redeem. Each one unlocks an exclusive skin, including the Balloon morph and the Soccer Boy morph.

Code

50KVISITS

Codes are case-sensitive, so match the uppercase and lowercase letters exactly. If a code fails, it has likely expired rather than been typed wrong.

How to confirm a morph is unlocked

Every successful pickup throws up a “SKIN UNLOCKED” pop-up, and many also fire a “Badge Awarded” notification naming the morph. Open the Morphs tab on the left HUD to see your collection fill in, and check the Badges tab to confirm the matching badge registered. When all 173 show as unlocked in the Morphs menu, the set is complete.
