The Way Home directs you to House Camp, a settlement surrounded by walls; its Church serves as your base there. The building brings together camp quest-givers, a free salvage station, a trader, beds, and the sled point connecting House Camp to the wider map.
Quick answer: House Camp operates from the Church. Anna Ivashchenko and the Combatant are inside, along with a Dismantle Bench you can use for free, a General Trader in a side room, and beds available to claim. Outside, the fast travel marker is on the snow before the front steps.
Finding the Church
A sign reading “LOCAL CHURCH” stands on the lawn in front of the building, and steps lead up to its double-door entrance. Inside, the location banner displays CHURCH beside a globe icon, with the “Feels like” temperature underneath. The temperature remains below zero, but the hall is warmer than the open snow.
The Church is a No Build Zone. You cannot place your own campfire or crafting stations inside, so plan to craft and repair at your own base or elsewhere.

Add to Google Preferences →Anna Ivashchenko and the quests she gives
Anna Ivashchenko stands in the main hall a few steps inside the front doors, on the red carpet beside a tall candle stand. The prompt reads “Anna Ivashchenko / Press F Talk”. The Way Home ends when you reach her, and its tracker line names her the leader of House Camp.

Anna assigns the main quests House Camp Flipper and Breaking the Radio Silence, as well as the side quest Lost Connection. After Breaking the Radio Silence concludes, the Tower of Finn banner appears on its own a few seconds later. Quest rewards from her appear in a yellow container marked “Quest reward” beside her.
The Combatant and Fading Light
An NPC labelled “Combatant” stands in the main hall among the pews, candles and sleeping bags. His prompt is a simple Press F Talk, and he hands you the side quest Fading Light, in which the quest text calls him the church caretaker. Guards outside carry the same “Combatant” label, so the one you want is the figure in the hall.
Using the free Dismantle Bench
Find the camp’s free workbench on the main hall’s side wall. It’s beside an arched window and hymn board, with shelves and red toolboxes; its prompt says “Dismantle Bench / Press F Open”.

Feed it junk and it converts the pieces one at a time. One Metal Junk becomes 2 Scrap, and one Plastic Junk becomes 2 Processed Plastic, at 5 seconds per piece. The bench keeps working while you are away, so you can load it and go run errands around the camp.
Trading with the General Trader
In a Church side room, the General Trader stands behind a counter formed from two white tables. Shelves are behind him, and a large wooden cross hangs on the wall. Enter from the main hall or use the room’s separate exterior door. Another armoured figure is at the counter too.

A stack of Bucks occupies the first slot on the trader’s shelf. When you sell something, your payment comes from this pile, so its displayed amount decreases. On one visit the shelf had around eight stacks, including a weapon; Surgical Spirit cost $20.
Claiming a bed to rest and sleep
The sleeping area is in the main hall beyond Anna, with cots behind screens, mattresses and green sleeping bags on the floor. You can claim a free sleeping spot here. Once it’s yours, the prompt reads “Bed | <your name>”, with “Press F Rest” and “Hold F more options”.

Hold F to bring up a half-wheel offering Rest and Sleep. Choose Sleep at night: the screen fades, then you wake in the morning as THE SUN IS RISING appears.
Unlocking the Church fast travel point
Outside, check the snow before the front steps for a signpost, notice board, and dog sleds. Snow covers the spot until you unlock it, and the prompt reads “Fast Travel: Church / Press F Unlock”.

Unlock the point with F; its prompt will switch to “Press F Travel”. On the map, a sled icon appears with the label “Location: Church”. From there, travel to any other point you’ve unlocked.
Sean’s house and the rest of the camp
Sean lives in a white wooden house with a covered porch, across the yard of snow-covered Damaged Cars. From the Church, go down the metal stairs beside it and cross the yard; his prompt is Press F Talk. House Camp Flipper sends you to him first, and Lost Connection sends you back because he is Brian’s father.
The rest of House Camp fills in around these points. The perimeter wall has lettered gates, with Gate B, Gate D and GATE F named, and House Camp Flipper has you renovate four wall sections. Scaffolding stairs on the Church’s side wall lead up to a locked cabin holding the Radio Station Bench for Breaking the Radio Silence. The Cold Zone and Water Tower sit in the heart of the camp, about a minute’s run from the Church, and the Promenade holds an abandoned playground with a swing set that matters for Lost Connection.
