Toastbud is among the earliest scrooms you can encounter in SCROOMS, roaming the lawn beside the spawn marker at Songkeeper’s Grove. Catching one Toastbud fills in its Index card. Below are the game’s recorded details and the way to catch one.

Quick answer: Toastbud is a Common scroom found in Songkeeper’s Grove, the starting area. Equip an instrument in hotbar slot 1 near the spawn sign, play the catch minigame, and keep it in the zone until the bar fills.

Toastbud rarity and Index entry

Its Index card is headed Common Scroom, and it is entry number 2 of 15 on the Songkeeper’s Grove page. The flavour line reads “Don’t confuse him for bread…” Each entry also carries a printed frequency band, and every Toastbud you catch comes with its own frequency inside that range, shown on its backpack card and in the catch message.

Scroll the entry down and you will find two more blocks. “Stats:” lists your Highest Frequency so far and the Date caught, and “Tones:” lists three lines for Melodic, Harmonic, and Resonant, each reading either “Caught: <date>” or “Uncaught”. Before you catch your first one, the card is a black silhouette labelled “???”.

Where to catch Toastbud

Put an instrument in hotbar slot 1 and hold it. Stand on the grass near the spawn sign, then click to play.
Click again on the ring when it appears. Keep the pin on the white dot while you tune the frequency.
Hold the scroom inside the sliding catch zone until the bar under the track fills completely. When it does, the catch finishes and the Index card updates.

The catch message confirms the result, printing “You caught: Toastbud! Frequency: <n> Hz”. Typical early catches land across the band, for example 23.8 Hz, 28.2 Hz, 28.5 Hz, and 31.8 Hz. Once that message shows and the silhouette turns into Toastbud’s picture, it is logged.

Toastbud tones: Melodic, Harmonic, and Resonant

A tone adds a prefix to a scroom’s name while leaving it the same scroom; examples include “Melodic Toastbud” or “Harmonic Toastbud”. A single scroom may have both tones, producing a name such as “Melodic Harmonic Toastbud”. The Index uses a gold star to show Melodic has been caught, while a cyan star marks Harmonic.

The catch message names the tone when you pull one, for example “You caught: Melodic Toastbud! Frequency: 25.8 Hz”. Each tone tracks its own entry in the “Tones:” block, so catching a plain Toastbud does not tick off Melodic, Harmonic, or Resonant for you.

You can hand a Toastbud over to Ogg. With it being Common and sitting right at the starting area, filling its card and its tones is one of the easier early goals to tick off in Songkeeper’s Grove.
