Shops in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave are spread across static town armories, wandering merchants, and the Vandal Trading Company barter system. Spending early gold on effective weapons, accuracy gear, and support items saves far more time than hoarding it, and the best stock is scattered across towns you reach as the map opens up.

Quick answer: Buy armor- and cavalry-slayer weapons first (Flyssa, Zanbato, Ridersbane, Horsekiller Bow), add Da Mina +10 Hit gear for combat arts, and stock up on infinite 70-gold Saraminian Sweets at Megaira.

Refine weapons at the Blacksmith to restore durability for free

Before buying backups of anything, understand how the Blacksmith works. Upgrading or refining a weapon fully restores its durability to maximum as part of the enhancement. That means an upgrade doubles as a free repair, so a worn weapon you already own is often better value than a fresh purchase.

Refining materials come from dungeon farming. Keep that supply flowing and you can run a small core of strong weapons for a long time instead of replacing them.

Effective (slayer) weapons by target type

Slayer weapons deal a large damage multiplier against their listed target and should be the backbone of early shopping. Each one covers a specific enemy type, so spreading purchases across armor, cavalry, beasts, and undead keeps your army ready for any map.

Flyssa is a thrusting sword that cuts through armored units, and a second copy waits at Zoste if your first one wears down. Against mounted foes you have options for every weapon type, from the Zanbato for sword users to the Horsekiller Bow for archers and the Ridersbane spear.

The Cleansing Blade is the specialist pick for the Underworld. It neutralizes the defensive boost undead enemies receive, which otherwise makes them very hard to chip down.

Da Mina weapons for combat arts (+10 Hit)

Every Da Mina-brand weapon grants Hit+10 when you attack with a combat art. That flat accuracy bonus offsets the low hit rate of high-cost arts, which makes these the reliable choice for any unit that leans on special attacks.

Callianera Port carries the Da Mina Sword (2,800), and the town of Da Mina itself sells the full lineup in bulk. The Da Mina Bow is at Orens, the Da Mina Axe at Raivo Port, and the Da Mina Gauntlets at Mons, so you can outfit most weapon types without a long detour.

Dodge-tank gear with +10 Avoid

Three low-weight weapons add +10 Avoidance, which both boosts dodge-tank builds and keeps units fast enough to double-attack. The extremely low weight is the real draw, since it avoids the speed penalty that heavier weapons carry.

Gauntlets for brawling units

Unarmed fighters have a surprisingly deep shop pool. The Counter Gauntlets from Mons add Atk+5 specifically on enemy-phase counterattacks, which rewards units you plant on the front line to bait attacks. They cost 2,100.

  • Qiankun Circles (Alecto, 3,500) — a physical strike usable at range 1-2, with power based on physical stats
  • Jamadhars (Breston, 2,800) — sword-scaling unarmed weapon
  • Resistant Gauntlets (Niiza Port, 2,100) — grants Res+3
  • Da Mina Gauntlets (Mons, 2,800) — Hit+10 with combat arts

Axes and spears for anti-armor duty

Grand Aragon is the anti-armor stop, selling the Hammer (2,100, Mt 14) and the Greatsword (2,800, Mt 15). Both crush armored enemies, and the same pairing shows up in the stock of wandering merchants on the world map if you cannot reach the town.

Raivo Port rounds out the heavy options with the Halberd (an axe-scaling spear, Mt 12) and the cheaper Short Axe. Other useful pickups include the Shielding Axe at Megaira (Def+3 in combat) and the Smashing Axe at Mahon Castle Town, which grants the Pulverize combat art.

Shields and rings for raw stats

Mons sells both the Da Mina Shield (Def+4, 4,000 gold) and the Silver Shield (Def+6, 10,000 gold) for bulking up frontline defense. The Silver Shield is expensive, but the +6 Defense is worth it on a unit you plan to keep tanking hits.

Rings come through the Vandal Trading Company barter at Alecto rather than for gold. Trade one Paradise Fish for the Giant’s Ring (Bld+4, Avo -20), which suits classes that cannot miss or dodge anyway, such as the Charioteer. One Dreamtracer buys the Gale Ring, which grants Spd+3 at only 2 weight for an effective net +1 Speed.

The Poisonhunt Gem looks tempting with its 1.3x damage against poisoned foes, but it carries heavy stat penalties and weighs 15. Skip it unless you are building specifically around poison.

Magic manuals: 10 of each per chapter

You can buy 10 Black-Magic and 10 White-Magic Manuals each chapter at 350 gold apiece, split across three towns. Each manual slightly raises a caster’s magic skill, so clearing the full stock every chapter steadily builds up your spellcasters.

Skill manuals and promotion licenses

Movement and stat manuals are sold across several towns. Callianera Port stocks Flying and Tactics manuals, and you can find Heavy-Armor, Tactics, and Riding manuals elsewhere, with Tactics and Riding priced at either 350 or 700 gold depending on the shop.

Megaira is the main source for promotion licenses. It sells the Advanced License for 2,100 gold and the Specialty License for 350, so plan a stop there whenever a unit is ready to promote. The Glaive spear is available at Kassite for 2,800 if you want another heavy spear while you are hunting manuals in that region.

Saraminian Sweets for instant Support

Megaira also sells Saraminian Sweets at 70 gold each with unlimited stock. Because the supply never runs out, you can mass-buy them and max out character support conversations almost immediately, which speeds up recruitment far more than any single gift.

Gold spent on sweets pays off fast, since raising Support is one of the main gates on adding new units to your army.

Crates and the RNG gamble

Merchants sell weapon and ring crates that return a random item. A Quality Weapon Crate runs 560 gold, a Luxury Weapon Crate 1,400, and a Ring Crate 1,400. Manual Crates are the cheapest at 280.

The results are random, so treat crates as a gamble rather than a reliable source for a specific item. If you are chasing a particular ring or weapon, save-scumming before opening is the only way to steer the outcome. With your slayer weapons, Da Mina gear, and Saraminian Sweets secured first, crates become a fine use of leftover gold rather than a priority.
