Planks are a common Basic Material in ARC Raiders, added alongside the Outpost in the Frozen Trail update. You need them to unlock and expand your surface base, and later to craft furniture and upgrade the Research Station. They are cheap, light, and come from two reliable places: the trader Celeste in Speranza, or residential and shop furniture scattered across the map.
Quick answer: In Speranza, Celeste charges 3 Assorted Seeds for each Plank. You can also search houses and stores on Pendola Pass, beginning in Old Town.
Buy Planks from Celeste in Speranza
Trading is the fastest option for getting Planks. Celeste, who runs Speranza, offers them for Assorted Seeds. It saves you from making a separate supply run if you need only a few to complete a project.
E on PC—to trade seeds for Planks. A batch of three is 9 Assorted Seeds; a batch of ten is 30.
Planks you buy stack with Planks you loot, so check your stash before shopping. If a raid already gave you two, you only need to pay for the ones you are short.

Celeste trades a full range of crafting materials for Assorted Seeds, not just Planks. Some unlock at higher Raider levels and carry a daily purchase cap. Here is her material stock with the verified prices.

|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | — | — | |

Planks have no listed unlock level or daily cap, so you can buy them in bulk as soon as you have the seeds. Each Plank also sells back for 100, so spares are never dead weight.
Where to loot Planks on Pendola Pass
Search inside residences and shops, since furniture in those buildings can contain Planks. A lootable location may generate any of roughly a hundred items, so there is no guaranteed Plank in a particular drawer. Buildings with more eligible loot points give you more chances during a clear. The closest-packed groups of these spots are on Pendola Pass.

| Location | Possible spots | What to open |
|---|---|---|
| Old Town | 665 | Kitchen cupboards and benches, drawers, stacking boxes |
| Commissary Supermarket | 231 | Stacking boxes (180 of them), cafe cupboards |
| Researcher Lodgings | 160 | Suitcases, console chests, drawers, closets |
| Piazza della Rupe | 122 | Drawers, console chests, suitcases |
| Porta Benvenuti | 97 | Drawers, kitchen benches, cupboards, TV units |
| Cielo Sereno Observatory | 77 | Filing cabinets and stacking boxes |
Old Town accounts for around one-third of the map’s Plank locations. Its houses have plenty of drawers and kitchen units, making it the best single-area sweep for a large raid haul. Next, check the Commissary Supermarket: its aisle and stockroom stacking boxes hold most of the Planks there. You can find Planks in residential districts of Buried City and Dam Battlegrounds as well, but Pendola Pass offers the most tightly grouped routes.
A map marker shows a possible Plank spawn, not a guaranteed one. Check floors, tables, and shelves for loose Planks as you cross each room; don’t limit your search to cabinets.
Which containers can hold Planks
Don’t spend time opening every container: some are unable to produce Planks. Focus on furniture that can contain them, and leave other containers alone unless you want their contents for another reason.

| Group | Can hold Planks | Never Planks |
|---|---|---|
| Residential | Kitchen cupboards and benches, closets, wardrobes, console chests, drawers, medical drawers, suitcases, TV units, trash bins, Venetian drawers, large desk drawers | Refrigerators, small desk drawers |
| Commercial | Cafe cupboard drawers, centre-bench drawers, shelf drawers, stacking boxes, filing-cabinet drawers, office desks, office trash bins, dumpsters | Cash registers, freezers, fridges |
What Planks are used for
Planks belong to the Outpost material category, used for Frozen Trail’s Raider Den extension. Each weighs only 0.1, and a stack holds as many as 50, letting you collect them on every raid without filling your bag.
The first place you spend them is the Sheltered Retreat Project, which unlocks the Outpost itself at Raider Level 18. Its building-materials stage asks for 3 Planks, along with 5 Sheet Metal, 10 ARC Alloy, and 3 Advanced Electrical Components. Materials already in your stash count toward the total, so buying all eight Planks and Sheet Metal from Celeste costs 24 Assorted Seeds if you would rather not farm.

You’ll need more as you progress. A level 1 Research Station upgrade takes 35 Planks, 3 Mini Pumps, and 5 Battered Paperbacks. Planks also appear in the recipes for many furniture designs, so reserve a stack after opening the Outpost.
Confirming you have enough
Extract with your Planks before using them; they must be safely in your stash to count. In the Outpost menu, go to the project screen and contribute materials to the Sheltered Retreat stage. Once each of the four material totals is marked delivered, the stage is complete. Claim it to advance toward opening the Outpost.
When you have 35 Planks and the remaining components for the Research Station, go to the Outpost upgrade menu and confirm the level 1 upgrade. If no orange notification dot appears after a project stage, visit the Outpost tab yourself and check for a claim option. Celeste is handy for topping up a small shortage; for the bigger upgrades ahead, gather supplies on a route through Old Town and the Commissary Supermarket.
