Scallops are an Uncommon catch from the Ocean in Fisch, and the quickest way to stack them is a hidden Scallop Abundance spot sitting just off Moosewood. The zone no longer has a visible marker on the water, so a Fish Radar is what turns it back into a glowing target you can sail straight to.

Quick answer: Equip a Fish Radar, spawn a boat at Moosewood, and sail south/southeast into the open ocean to the cyan Scallop Abundance box (GPS 20, 135, 750), then fish inside it.

Where the Scallop Abundance is

The spot sits in open water directly south and southeast of the Moosewood docks, at the GPS coordinates 20, 135, 750. Catch rates for Scallop climb sharply inside that boundary compared to fishing random ocean tiles.

This location used to be marked by a floating Boot on the surface, but that marker was removed and never replaced. The abundance itself stayed in place. Since then the only reliable way to see the zone is a Fish Radar, which draws it as a cyan square grid on the water.

Gathering Scallops is much easier in Winter and Autumn in-game, so schedule your major farming runs for those seasons.

What you need before you go

  • A Fish Radar to reveal the hidden abundance as a cyan boundary.
  • Any boat from the Moosewood Shipwright, such as the Rowboat.
  • Any fishing rod. Scallops have a low resilience of 60, so they are an easy reel.

How to reach the Scallop Abundance from Moosewood

Equip the Fish Radar so resource abundance zones light up on the water. Keep it in hand while you travel, since the cyan square only appears when the radar is active.
Walk to the Shipwright at the Moosewood docks and open the boat menu. Pick a boat and spawn it. The Rowboat works fine, though any craft gets you there.

Board the boat and steer south/southeast, away from Moosewood and into the open ocean. The zone is a short ride out, not a long deep-sea trip.

Watch for the cyan square grid on the surface. That boundary is the Scallop Abundance. Stop your boat inside it and cast from there.

How to know a Scallop catch worked

When you hook a Scallop, a Common Exclamation pops above your character and a bell sound plays, which is the signal shared by all Uncommon fish. During the reel, the catch moves slow and steady across the fishing bar, so keeping it in the sweet spot is straightforward. One of the Scallop catch quips, such as “A Scallop!” or “Ou! A Scallop!”, confirms the catch on completion.

Scallop is Unfavoring, meaning its catch chance drops as your luck rises, so dropping luck-boosting gear can actually help a dedicated Scallop run. It sells for 220 C$ per kilogram, with a natural weight ceiling of roughly 1.1kg.

Can you use a Crab Cage here?

Scallops can be pulled from Crab Cages as well as a rod, and Crab Cages are even one of their preferred sources. The catch is placement: Crab Cages cannot be dropped in the deep open-sea Scallop Abundance zone. If you want to cage Scallops instead of rod-fishing them, set cages at a spot that allows them, such as Sunstone Island or the Ocean’s Strange Whirlpool, and fish the abundance box with a rod when you are out there.
