Scallop is an Uncommon ocean fish in Fisch, and the fastest way to land one is to fish inside its dedicated abundance spot sitting in the water just off Moosewood Island. It moves slowly across the catch bar and has a low Resilience of 60, so the mini-game itself is easy once you reach the right patch of ocean.

Quick answer: Sail into the Ocean just south/southeast of Moosewood to the Scallop Abundance (GPS 20, 135, 750) and cast with any rod. Scallop has no preferred bait, so you can fish bare-hooked.

Scallop requirements and stats

Scallop lives in the Ocean and can be pulled with either a Fishing Rod or a Crab Cage. It carries the Unfavoring trait, meaning its catch chance drops as your luck rises, so stacking luck works against you here.

Reach the Scallop Abundance near Moosewood

The Scallop Abundance sits in open water a short boat ride from the Moosewood docks. It is not drawn on the map like a normal abundance area, and the floating Boot that once marked it has been removed, so you navigate to it by heading out and watching for the zone on the surface.

At the docks on Moosewood Island, get a boat from the Shipwright—one option is the Rowboat—to travel the distance quickly.

Board the boat and steer out into the sea heading south/southeast, away from Moosewood. The abundance appears over the water as a square zone marked [Scallop], shown as a green striped grid on the surface.

Stop inside the marked zone and cast your line. You do not need any bait on the hook, since Scallop has no bait preference. Complete the fishing mini-game to reel one in.

The Scallop Spot sits at GPS 20, 135, 750. Because it lacks the usual visible abundance marker, equipping a Fish Radar makes the hidden boundary easy to spot. On radar it shows as a glowing cyan square on the water.

Catch Scallop with Crab Cages

Crab Cages give you a passive alternative to rod fishing. Scallop can be pulled from cages in several spots, which is useful when you want to farm it while doing other things.

  • Ocean — Scallop Abundance
  • Ocean — Strange Whirlpool
  • Sunstone Island

You can’t set Crab Cages inside the deep open-sea abundance area, so use Sunstone Island or the Strange Whirlpool for cage fishing instead of the main Scallop Spot.

Confirm you caught a Scallop

When a Scallop hooks, your character calls out a catch quip such as “A Scallop!” or “Woah! A Scallop,” accompanied by the bell sound that plays for every Uncommon fish. The catch then registers in your inventory and Bestiary.

The on-screen catch message confirms the Scallop landed, along with any weight records it set. Shown at 00:37 in OP GAME GUIDES’s video. Image: Fisching

A Scallop above base weight registers as Big, and one above 1kg counts as Giant. If it arrives with the Shiny attribute, the shell opens to reveal a pearl inside, a small visual payoff worth watching for while you farm the spot.
