Over the Hill, the off-road exploration game from Funselektor Labs, lands on PC this week. You drive vintage 4×4 vehicles through forests, muddy trails, rocky climbs, and open countryside, solo or with up to three friends, and getting stuck is part of the ride.
Quick answer: Over the Hill releases on October 14, 2026 at 15:00 UTC on PC via Steam. That is 11:00 AM EDT and 8:00 AM PDT in the US, and 4:00 PM BST in the UK.
Release time: October 14, 2026 at 15:00 UTC (11:00 AM EDT / 4:00 PM BST)
Release status and confirmed date
Status: Confirmed. Funselektor locked in the October 14, 2026 PC date back in August, after the Steam Next Fest demo and a round of playtests. The store timestamp recorded for the launch is 15:00 UTC, which puts the unlock at the same moment worldwide.
The developer has not separately promised an unlock at exactly 15:00 UTC; storefront launch times may change before release. Check the Steam countdown for the final time.

Platforms and the 2027 console plan
At launch, the game is available only on Windows PC through Steam. Steam’s listing also indicates Linux support, but not Mac. Versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 are scheduled for 2027, with specific dates still unannounced. Physical editions are planned for PS5 and Switch 2.
Pre-orders aren’t available. Add the game to your wishlist on the official Steam page, then buy it when sales open on launch day. Console store listings are also available for wishlisting; PlayStation gives its date as to be determined, while Xbox has yet to list one.
Price and optional extras
The standard PC edition is priced at $24.99. Funselektor has confirmed a launch discount but has not announced its size. Steam sets prices by region, so your local price may differ from a direct currency conversion. The press kit lists €24.99, £22.49, and ¥86 for China.
None of the add-ons are needed to play. The breakdown is below.
| Item | Price (USD) |
|---|---|
| Base game | $24.99 |
| Soundtrack | $9.99 |
| Supporter Pack | $9.99 |
| Bundle (game + soundtrack + Supporter Pack) | $37.99 |
Included in the Supporter Pack are a name tag, cosmetics, a one-of-a-kind campsite, maps for printing, and 4K wallpapers.
What the full game includes
Drive four-wheel-drive vehicles from the 1960s through the 1980s across forest, mountain, and lakeside terrain instead of racing circuits. Dynamic weather and the day-night cycle affect the ground as you travel. The full release features areas drawing inspiration from Canada and Algeria, including locations missing from the demo.
- Planks to bridge gaps and winches to pull vehicles free when you get stuck.
- Merchants and cabins that sell equipment and customization options.
- A photo mode and an in-game camera for building a wildlife compendium.
- Portals that open routes to new areas.
- Vehicle upgrades and cosmetics unlocked by completing objectives.
It supports solo play or online co-op for up to four players total. Local split-screen is not available, and crossplay is planned.
