AION 2: Superior Abyssal Manastone Effects and How to Get

The Superior Abyssal Manastone is a Rare-grade stone in AION 2 that you engrave into the Manastone slots on weapons and armor. It does not add a fixed bonus. Each slot it fills rolls one stat from a pool of 22, and the value you land on is decided by chance. Its defining trait is a split pool that mixes standard combat stats with PvP lines, which is why PvP-minded players chase it over the plain Superior Manastone.

Quick answer: Engrave it into a weapon or armor slot for one random stat out of 22. Get it as a crafting combo while making Intermediate Abyssal Manastone, or as a reward from Abyss achievements.

What the Superior Abyssal Manastone does

This stone can add stats when engraved into Manastone sockets on weapons or armor; a random roll determines both the stat and its value. The game selects from 22 stats, then rolls a grade to determine the value. It is tradable, has Rare grade, and requires level 1, so your character’s level does not restrict which equipment you can engrave it on.

Around a third of every roll lands on a PvP stat, and the stone also carries PvP Damage Boost at a 1% chance. That trade-off matters. Compared to the regular Superior Manastone, the core combat stats such as Attack, Defense and Critical Hit each drop from 10% to 6% per roll, because that weight is moved into PvP lines. For pure PvE gear, the plain Superior Manastone gives better odds on the same values. For a dedicated PvP set, the Abyssal version is the one that can roll PvP Attack, PvP Defense and the rest.

Full stat pool and roll values

Each stat comes with a set selection probability; together, those probabilities total 100%. After the stat is selected, the value has a 50% chance to roll Rare, a 35% chance to roll Epic, or a 15% chance to roll Unique. The table below gives each stat’s selection probability and its Rare / Epic / Unique values, in that order.

StatPick chanceValue (Rare / Epic / Unique)
Block10%+10 / +15 / +20
HP9.5%+60 / +100 / +160
MP9.5%+30 / +50 / +80

PvP Evasion4.5%+14 / +20 / +30
PvP Critical Hit4.5%+14 / +20 / +30
PvP Critical Hit Resist4.5%+14 / +20 / +30
PvP Block4.5%+20 / +30 / +40
PvP Damage Boost1%+0.2% / +0.6% / +2%

Weapon Damage Boost0.5%+0.1% / +0.3% / +1%
Critical Damage Boost0.5%+0.1% / +0.3% / +1%
Back Attack Damage Boost0.5%+0.1% / +0.3% / +1%
Front Attack Damage Boost0.5%+0.1% / +0.3% / +1%

The five Damage Boost lines and PvP Damage Boost are the rarest hits. Because each sits at 0.5% to 1% pick chance before the grade roll, landing a top-tier Unique value on any one of them is a fraction of a percent per engrave. Plan around the high-weight stats and treat a Damage Boost result as a bonus rather than a target.

How to get the Superior Abyssal Manastone

There is no monster drop, dungeon or vendor that hands this stone out directly. Two routes supply it. The tradable version comes from Alchemy crafting, and a Bound version that cannot be traded comes from achievements.

Alchemy crafting combo

The Superior Abyssal Manastone is not a direct recipe. It appears as a combo result when you craft Intermediate Abyssal Manastone at an Alchemy Table, which needs Alchemy mastery 85. The Intermediate recipe uses 5× Lesser Abyssal Manastone, 5× Spiritstone Powder and 3× Professional Ink (Bound). Elyos tables are at Dawn Legion Base and Zumion Village in Verteron; Asmodian tables are at Safe Haven and Nornir Assembly in Altgard.

Achievement rewards (Bound)

Abyss and enhancement achievements award the Bound version. The Filled with Abyssal Manastone chain rewards it for binding Ultimate-grade or higher Manastones and Soulstones to gear a set number of times, while the Land Grabs weekly season mission pays it for Artifact Siege participation.

AchievementRequirementReward
Land Grabs IITake part in Artifact Siege twice before it ends (weekly)Superior Abyssal Manastone (Bound) x1

The crafted stone can be traded on the market and stored on both character and server storage, but the achievement version is Bound and stays on the account that earned it.

How to engrave it onto gear

Use the Manastone tab in the Enhancement window to engrave equipment. Unlike gems, stones aren’t inserted individually: register one, pay the fee, and let the game roll the item’s slots. The equipment’s grade determines its slot count and also affects the Kinah fee.

Gear gradeManastone slotsKinah per engrave
Common1500
Rare21,000
Epic31,500
Unique42,000
Open the Enhancement window, switch to the Manastone tab, and select the weapon or armor piece you want to engrave. Accessories use Soulstones on a separate tab, so Manastones will not register on them.
Put in a Superior Abyssal Manastone. Before you confirm, check the acquisition probability table shown in the window; the process stays unavailable until a stone has been registered.
Pay the Kinah fee and confirm. On a fresh item, every slot fills at once. On an already-engraved item, only the checked slots are rerolled, so uncheck the lines you want to keep before confirming.

Rerolling overwrites the stat on any slot you leave checked. Individual good lines cannot be permanently locked, so a new roll can replace a stat you liked. Each reroll costs both the stone and the Kinah fee again.

The item’s slots will show the new stat lines once engraving succeeds, and the window will confirm that the effects have been applied. For larger batches, set Auto Engrave a target stat type, minimum grade, and count; it continues rolling until those requirements are satisfied or your stones or Kinah run out.
