Bilguun’s gift is the Broken Compass, a quest trinket you dig out of a buried cache during A Path Not Yours on The Blue Gate. The sub-step that sends you after it, “In One Bound,” points you to the Highway Collapse landmark, where the cache sits in plain sight once you know which pillar to walk up to.

Quick answer: Go to Highway Collapse near Forest Airshaft on The Blue Gate, walk to the base of the westernmost standing highway pillar, and loot the cache bag on the ground to collect the Broken Compass.

Before you drop in

The Blue Gate is a high-difficulty map, rated 4 out of 5, and it only opens once you have played 18 rounds. Bilguun’s gift has to survive the trip home, so equip an augment that gives you a Safe Pocket before you deploy. The moment you pick up the Broken Compass, move it into that pocket so you keep it even if you go down.

If you also want the optional stash in Bilguun’s hideout above the cache, bring a traversal gadget. The Nomadic Envoy hands you two Ziplines when you take the quest, and either one is enough to reach the opening in the broken bridge.

Where the buried cache is on The Blue Gate

The cache sits at the Highway Collapse landmark, just west of the Forest Airshaft return point. Here, the elevated road has broken apart and fallen to the ground. Find the westernmost upright support that still stands alone at the edge of the collapsed stretch.

Follow the Nomad trail markers from the start point and they lead you toward the hideout over the collapsed span. Things can feel disorienting around the rubble, so if the markers lose you, head straight for the terminal pillar of the broken highway and work from there.

How to find and collect the Broken Compass

Enter The Blue Gate, then make your way to Highway Collapse, west of Forest Airshaft. Bring up your map and check that the quest ping is on the collapsed highway segment.
Move to the last upright concrete pillar holding up the broken elevated road. Stand at its base in the grass and dirt, on the northwest side of the pillar.

Look for the cache bag resting in a shallow hole against the pillar wall and interact with it. This pulls the Broken Compass out of the ground.

Open your inventory and drag the Broken Compass into your Safe Pocket right away. Losing it means repeating the run, so do this before you fight, loot anything else, or extract.

What the Broken Compass is

This little trinket offers no benefit in combat and serves only as a quest turn-in. That’s why the Nomadic Envoy describes it as an unusual present. Its details are listed here for easy reference.

Optional: Bilguun’s secret stash above the cache

After you grab the compass, look straight up. There is an opening inside the broken section of the highway directly overhead, and that is Bilguun’s hideout with the optional secret stash inside. Reaching it needs a bit of vertical traversal.

You can get up there with a Zipline from the Nomadic Envoy, a Snap Hook, or a Grappling Hook, or by dropping down from the highway above. Interacting with the stash triggers a trap, but it only sets off firecrackers rather than a real explosion, so there is no need to dive away when it goes off.

These are the gadgets that will get you into the opening, with their verified stats.

Since the Envoy gives you two Ziplines for the quest anyway, the lightest and simplest option is to spend one of those to reach the stash and keep the other in reserve.

Delivering the compass and confirming the quest

Use the Forest Airshaft just east of the pillar to extract with the Broken Compass still in your Safe Pocket. Back at base, hand it to the Nomadic Envoy to close out A Path Not Yours. The quest completes when the Envoy takes the compass and your rewards unlock.

Turning it in grants Tellurion, two Magnet, two Battery, two Power Cable, and 2,500 XP. The two Ziplines the Envoy handed you at the start are yours to keep regardless of whether you went for the optional stash.
