Part 3 of Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, the Salvation Arc, picks up after a time skip, and the game marks that jump by giving a large part of the cast new artwork and updated 3D models. Characters who were younger in Part 1 now appear older, hairstyles and outfits change, and a few units drop signature accessories entirely. Not everyone is touched, though, and the split between redesigned and unchanged units is fairly even across the recruitable roster.

Quick answer: The Salvation Arc ages up the roster and gives more than 40 playable characters new portraits and models, while around 17 units keep their exact original appearance.

How the Part 3 time skip changes character designs

The Salvation Arc is the stage where every route converges and the Flame Lords unite under Eshmel, the Promised One. Because time has passed in the story, the character profile sheets and the overworld exploration models are redrawn to reflect it. Ages on the stat screens are the post-time skip figures, so younger units read as more mature and several veteran characters look visibly older.

The redesigns range from full makeovers to minor edits. Some units get entirely new hair, armor, and accessories, while others change by a single detail such as a removed hat or beard. A handful of characters carry over from earlier parts with no visual change at all, even when their age has advanced.

Age jumps and voice changes

The time skip pushes several younger leads into young adulthood. Peter is now 20, and his look drops the baby fat of his earlier design to match. His voice acting was also re-recorded for Part 3 to suit the older character.

Older cast members read as seasoned veterans. Buccar appears at age 54 with a straightened head angle and a more grounded warrior stance, while Tialia’s artwork matures to fit her tactician background. Halvin receives both a new haircut and updated voice credits, with Judy Alice Lee listed for the role.

The biggest visual overhauls

Ultand is among the most reworked. Her Part 3 design splits her red hair into a front braid with the rest gathered behind, and pairs it with detailed Guardian armor pauldrons shown on both her portrait and exploration model. She also carries one of the strongest stat profiles in the roster, with the fourth highest overall growths in the game.

Catania swaps the headband from her Part 1 art for a blue butterfly ornament, a small change that noticeably reshapes her silhouette. The new piece sits front and center on her updated profile portrait.

Olympia arrives with a toned-down hairstyle set against an ornate blue-and-gold dress, rendered in full for her 3D model. Talimun keeps his flair with shaved line patterns cut into his hair and a feathered cape that carries across both his portrait and overworld model.

Inyoni trades a wilder look for a tamed hairstyle, one of the roster’s larger shifts, while Anatolia moves away from her earlier nun appearance toward a headdress, long dark hair, and an armored dress. Dante straightens his hair, loses his beret, and switches into a more revealing red outfit across both his 2D and 3D forms.

Reveals hidden behind disguises and accessories

A few redesigns are less about aging and more about dropping something the character wore before. Maxim appears without his Jester disguise, showing his full face for the first time, which also confirms the identity behind the earlier masked unit. Orchel is likewise shown unmasked as a cleric.

Smaller edits land in the same category. Seteth’s only change after the time skip is the removal of his hat, and Bertrand loses the white beard from his previous look. These are minor on their own, but they shift how recognizable each character is at a glance when they rejoin for the Salvation Arc.
