The Kettle ships as a semi-automatic Common assault rifle that fires one round per trigger pull. It uses Light Ammo, holds 20 rounds, and has Very Weak ARC Armor Penetration. The Frozen Trail update added weapon amplification, and one of the Kettle’s three amplification paths flips its firing mode to Fully-Automatic. That change is a permanent part of the weapon once you commit it, so it’s worth knowing exactly what the conversion costs before you spend the parts.
Quick answer: Level the Kettle to tier IV, amplify it at a level IV Gunsmith using an Amplification Module MK. I, then buy the Full-Auto node in its amplification tree for three Pneumatic Actuators.
What you need before converting the Kettle
Full-Auto is an amplification upgrade, so the gun has to reach amplification first. That means a fully upgraded Kettle, the right station level, and two specific materials.

- A Kettle upgraded all the way to tier IV.
- A Gunsmith at level IV, which requires the Outpost expanded to level 4.
- A single Amplification Module MK. I enables common weapon amplification and can be obtained from the ARC Frigate or inside the fallen Emperor on Pendola Pass.
- Three Pneumatic Actuators are an Epic topside material for making amplified weapons.
Amplifying raises the Kettle’s maximum durability from 130 at tier IV up to 200, which is why the weapon has to be fully leveled before the game lets you amplify it.

How to confirm the conversion worked
Once the node is bought, the weapon’s Firing Mode field reads Fully-Automatic instead of Semi-Automatic. The gun now fires continuously while you hold the trigger. Because amplification choices are permanent, that reading won’t revert, and you can’t undo the path to try a different one on the same weapon.
What Full-Auto changes on the Kettle
Full-Auto makes the Kettle fire automatically, but it trades away accuracy and stability to do it. The node applies the following modifiers:
- 15% increased fire rate
- 20% reduced headshot damage multiplier
- 30% increased vertical recoil
- 30% increased horizontal recoil
- 30% increased max shot dispersion
The amplified Kettle keeps its 20-round magazine and Very Weak ARC Armor Penetration, and carries the tier IV handling bonuses of 75% increased bullet velocity and 40% reduced reload time. To offset the added recoil, a recoil-control loadout helps: a stock such as the Kinetic Converter or Stable Stock III, a Muzzle Brake, and the Vertical Grip III all compile cleanly with the rifle.

Kettle amplification paths and their conflicts
The Kettle has three amplification upgrades, and they don’t all stack. Full-Auto and Anti-Shield can be combined on the same gun, but X-Rounds rules out both of the others. Plan the build before you spend a module, since the choice is permanent.

| Upgrade | Effect | Conflicts with | Node cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full-Auto | Makes the weapon fully automatic, at the cost of accuracy and stability | X-Rounds | 3 Pneumatic Actuator |
| Anti-Shield | Redistributes damage to break shields faster | X-Rounds | 3 Assessor Matrix |
| X-Rounds | Explosive projectile, large bonus damage to ARC Armor plating | Anti-Shield, Full-Auto | 3 Fossilized Lightning |
Amplifying the Kettle at all first grants the Amplified Durability upgrade, which is what raises its maximum durability before you branch into any of the three paths above.
Amplification Module tiers
Each module unlocks amplification for a weapon of a matching rarity. The Kettle is Common, so it takes the MK. I. Every module weighs 0.5 and drops only from the Frigate and inside the fallen Emperor.

| Module | Rarity | Unlocks amplification for |
|---|---|---|
| MK. I | — | Common weapons (the Kettle) |
| MK. II | Uncommon | Uncommon weapons |
| MK. III | Rare | Rare weapons |
| MK. IV | Epic | Epic weapons |
| MK. V | Legendary | Legendary weapons |
With the module spent and the Full-Auto node bought, the Kettle behaves like an automatic rifle while keeping its Light Ammo economy. Pair it with the recoil mods above, and the semi-auto’s old limitation is gone for good.
