Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse Part 5 Walkthrough — Library and Clock Tower to Talos

With the objective set to “Find Dracula and defeat him”, the path forward leaves the Grand Hall, passes through the Library, climbs the Clock Tower, and ends at the chained giant Talos in the furnace hall. One branch of that climb leads straight into a scripted death, so the order you take the rooms in matters. Here is the route, the pickups worth grabbing along the way, and the trap to avoid.

Quick answer: From Brauner’s Atelier head through the West Hall, Library and Clock Tower, then take the Path of the Builder to Foundry Apex and the Final Trap. Do not follow the Clock Tower Bridge into the throne room.

Grand Hall to the Library

From the corridor beside the Grand Hall, go into Brauner’s Atelier. Hit the big turning gear in the wall to reveal a passage. If you wish, read the letter on the raised desk and inspect the sculpture in the hall’s centre. Exit on the right, heading back toward the Grand Hall.

Enter the West Hall, an elevated platform lined with dragon-skull pillars that exhale fire. In the room of spiked portraits, a chest contains the Rapiers (Refined) weapon. Another chest, beyond a gate locked by a lever, contains the Witch’s Knot relic.

Go over the outdoor bridge during the thunderstorm, then enter the Library. Within it, a concealed study contains the Lich’s Mark relic, displayed on a pedestal.

Proceed to the Rhetoric Shelves, a hall centred on a huge armillary sphere. Use the sphere’s rings to make your way to the exit in the upper-left corner. In the shrine room on the right, a mirror updates your map.

Take the Forgotten Bridge, a long blood-red span. You are healed the moment you arrive, so cross it before the next stretch.

Climbing the Clock Tower

From the Clock Tower onward the rooms fill with gears, chains, sawblades and crushing blocks. The climb runs through a set of machinery rooms in a fixed order.

Enter Mechanic’s Ascent. A Seer Statue here offers a clue about The Zealot and Isaac, and a mirror shrine updates the map. A chest in this room holds the Halberd (Refined) weapon.

Go through the Eastern Access Shaft; a chest perched on a stone pillar contains the Sinister Rune relic. Continue onward into Serpent Pinion, a vertical shaft filled with spinning cogs and spikes in the floor.

Make your way through Daedalus Crossing, the hall packed with gears. Wall-jump up the pillars to find a concealed room behind a wall, where the Vile Trinket relic is kept. In the crusher room, the chest at the far-left end contains the Hollow Bone relic.

Make it to the Upper Gallery, an outdoor walkway beneath a crimson sky, equipped with golden grapple rings. It is the final stop before reaching the tower’s top.

Reach the Clock Tower Bridge, where a conversation plays before the bridge’s clock opens a dark portal. On the other side, a corridor with red stained-glass windows stretches right toward a throne room.

Avoid the throne room trap

Don’t take the hallway beyond the Clock Tower Bridge as your route forward. If you follow it to the throne room, a cutscene plays before a game-over screen appears, beginning “You fell into Death’s trap.” This scripted ending is the bad one associated with the “Belmont’s fall” trophy; the credits play, then you return to the title screen.

Select RESUME to continue at a mirror. The Ferryman tells Rose she has received another chance, and “New Character Skin Unlocked!” appears. From the mirror, follow the builder’s route instead.

The Path of the Builder route to Talos

To reach Talos, travel along the Path of the Builder, ascend to Foundry Apex, then descend through the Final Trap into the furnace hall.

Enter the Path of the Builder, where armoured knights and falling crusher blocks line the corridors. After the enemy wave, a chest holds the Moonlit Shard relic.

Enter the Final Trap, where crushing weights and spike pits form a gauntlet. A caged elevator in this area goes up to Foundry Apex.

Another entrance is available via the Way of the Fist. Beyond the Upper Gallery, find a room with a chest containing the Claymore (Refined) weapon. Ride the Builder’s Secret Elevator to Foundry Apex, then take the cage lift below down to the Final Trap.

Talos fight and rewards

A cinematic reveals the giant chained in the furnace hall, followed by a lone red health bar bearing the name TALOS. Defeat it amid the furnace hall’s platforms and hazards to receive The Builder Arcana. This reward is the tarot card The Builder, which grants the Fist of Talos spell.

Smash tutorial and the Builder’s Bureau

After the fight, the Smash tutorial reads “Break the DESTRUCTIBLE BLOCKS by pressing Down + Cross when Rose is in the air.” Use it on the cracked golden floor next to the arena.

The Builder’s Bureau follows. On a desk is a sketch from Talos; the chest on the right contains the Fists of Talos weapon (Masterpiece, ATK 75).
