How to Complete Till Death in Valor Mortis (Red Ribbon Location)

Defeat Anna in Cursed Hollow, recover the Red Ribbon, and restore the wedding wreath to earn Remnant's Return.

Defeat Anna in Cursed Hollow, recover the Red Ribbon, and restore the wedding wreath to earn Remnant’s Return.

Till Death is a side quest in Chapter 6 of Valor Mortis, set in the swampy village of Cursed Hollow. It centers on a drowned bride and her missing wedding ribbon, and it cannot be finished in one sitting. You start it early in the chapter, then complete it near the end once you can reach the church and pick up the Red Ribbon.

Quick answer: Interact with the wilted wreath after beating the bride to begin the quest, grab the Red Ribbon from the flower-covered grave behind the church, return and place it on the wreath, then rest at a lantern and interact with the wreath again to finish.

What you need before starting Till Death

The quest runs from one end of the Cursed Hollow chapter to the other, so you need to progress through the region to close it out. Two moments gate your progress.

  • In Cursed Hollow, reach the village during the wedding scene and bring down Anna, the Bride Drowned in Tears, to leave the altar area clear.
  • Push on to the church at the end of the chapter, where you pull the Claymore from a body and fight off a wave of enemies before reaching the graveyard.

Start the quest at the Eerie View altar

Cross the swamp and drop into the village where the wedding is about to happen. Pass through the archway to encounter the bride, then bring down Anna, the Bride Drowned in Tears, to leave the area clear.

Approach the candle-covered altar and interact with the wilted wreath beside the candles. This triggers Till Death and adds it to your side quest log.

Inspect the blue memory by the altar. William discovers that the bride’s lucky red ribbon went missing in the chapel while she prayed, directing you to the church for the next part.

Red Ribbon location at the Village Church

Follow the enemy-filled path through the toxic swamp toward the chapel. Shoot the glowing red nephtoglobin bulb to open a shortcut leading to the lantern by the bride fight. At the lantern, turn left to find the chapel entrance.

Clear the path to the chapel by shooting the two red nephtoglobin bulbs — one on the right side near the tree, and a second on the left side of the chapel found by looking up.
Enter and remove the Claymore from the body, then deal with the enemies nearby. Leave for the cemetery and inspect the blue memory to hear the bride praying for a man who had already died.
When the graveyard path splits, take the right branch. Find the Red Ribbon on a grave adorned with yellow and white flowers, with candles burning nearby. Pick it up to update the quest.

Place the ribbon and rest to finish the quest

Return to the altar. You can fast travel to the Eerie View lantern and take the ladder shortcut across the rooftops, or run back along the wooden walkway. From the Village Church lantern, head forward and take the second left to reach the wreath.
Interact with the wreath to weave the Red Ribbon into it. You receive the Tomorrow’s Promise amber for this, but the quest does not complete yet — William notes in his journal that something is still missing and that some things need time.

Go to the nearest lantern and select Rest. This reloads the area and passes the time the quest is waiting for.
Walk back to the altar. The wreath has now bloomed with colorful flowers. Interact with it to complete Till Death and receive Remnant’s Return.

How to confirm Till Death is complete

You know it worked when the wreath changes from wilted to fully bloomed and the game shows the quest-complete notification after you interact with it. Remnant’s Return is added to your inventory at that point, which confirms the final stage fired. If the wreath still looks withered when you return, you have not rested at a lantern since placing the ribbon — rest once more and come back.

Till Death rewards: Tomorrow’s Promise and Remnant’s Return

You collect two rewards across the quest. The Tomorrow’s Promise amber drops when you first place the ribbon, and Remnant’s Return is handed over when the quest completes.

Tomorrow’s Promise makes your Ferrofluid Flask restore Health over 10 seconds instead of all at once. Its healing factor increases by rank: 1.1 at rank 1, 1.2 at rank 2, and 1.3 at rank 3. Drinking another flask before the effect ends won’t extend its duration; it resets the timer to its full length.

Remnant’s Return is a consumable that automatically absorbs the Catalysts you drop when you die, so you don’t have to run back to recover them. You can hold up to 99, and it sells for 500. If you want more copies, Louis’s Laboratoire stocks four of them starting in Chapter 5 (Crime), and extras can be found in chests in the Fortress and Napoleon’s Prison.

Hold the Tomorrow’s Promise amber until you have a build that benefits from regeneration over time. The slow heal suits defensive or attrition play better than a burst-heal setup, since the flask no longer tops you up in one go.
