Bunker vs Verity drops you next to an underground hatch and sends smiley-faced creatures called Verities at it in numbered waves. Your job never changes across a run. Dig out space, wall off the entrance, mount turrets, shoot what leaks through, and keep enough coins in reserve to repair and upgrade between waves. Everything below moves you from a flimsy first bunker to a base that survives the Wave 5 mini-boss and the Wave 10 boss.
Quick answer: Wall your hatch into a narrow chokepoint, place a turret covering it, start raids to kill Verities for coins, upgrade bunker health, and rebirth once you reach the coin target to lock in a permanent 1.25x coin multiplier.
How the core loop works
The game runs on a simple rhythm. You prepare during the calm between raids, then defend when a wave spawns, then repair and spend before the next one begins. Your bunker has its own health bar, and Verities damage both your walls and the structure itself. When that bar hits zero, the run ends.
Coins drop directly from defeated Verities and arrive in larger amounts from surviving waves, daily rewards, and missions. You spend those coins on blocks, turrets, guns, traps, and bunker upgrades. Building blocks like Studded Grass, Dirt, Sand, and Stone cost nothing, so there is no reason to leave your hatch exposed on a fresh run.
Every few waves escalate. Wave 5 brings a tall, slender mini-boss (a Brute from the south), and Wave 10 brings a large red boss with a much bigger health pool. Both arrive alongside normal Verities, which is where most early runs fall apart.
Set up your first bunker

Reaching Wave 5 unlocks a checkpoint, so later raids can start from Wave 5 instead of Wave 1. Pushing to that marker is worth the effort even on an early run.
Turrets available without rebirth
Four turrets are buyable from the start. Everything stronger is locked behind rebirths, so your early defense comes down to these.
| Turret | Cost | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Basic Turret | 300 | First-wave starter |
| Shotgun Turret | 650 | Close-range crowd damage |
| Gatling Turret | 800 | Sustained fire on rushes |
| Sniper Turret | 950 | Single high-HP targets and bosses |
Placement matters more than which one you own. Stacking two turrets on the same chokepoint out-damages three turrets spread across open ground, because every shot lands on the lane enemies actually use. The Sniper Turret is the pick for chipping down mini-bosses and the Wave 10 boss. Higher tiers like the Rocket, Laser, and Tesla turrets open up after your first rebirths.
Guns and loadout order
You carry two firearms at once, one in the rifle slot and one in the pistol slot, and you cannot swap them once a raid starts. The free Pistol and Rifle handle the first few waves and nothing more. Save coins for a stronger primary as soon as you can afford one.
| Gun | Rarity | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Pistol | Common | Free |
| Carbine | Rare | 700 |
| Uzi | Uncommon | 1.2K |
| Desert Eagle | Epic | 1.5K |
| Shotgun | Rare | 2.5K |
| SMG | Rare | 3.5K |
| Breecher | Rare | 3.5K |
The Desert Eagle is a clear step up from the starter pistol for dealing with tougher enemies and mini-bosses. Skip cosmetic spending early and put coins into firepower and defenses instead. Guns like the Assault Rifle, Marksman, and Sniper require Rebirth 2.
Fastest ways to earn coins
Coins come from four places, and they are not equal. Lean on the ones that pay the most for the least grind.
- Clearing waves earns a fixed payout, much larger than the money gained from kills.
- Mini-boss and boss kills, which drop large payouts at Wave 5 and Wave 10.
- Farms placed inside your bunker, which drip coins on a timer (a farm can produce 14 coins every 10 seconds).
- Daily rewards and missions, which hand over coins, eggs, and free weapons for simple tasks.
Place farms in a protected interior corner so a boss cannot smash them, and claim your daily reward every login. Missions reward ordinary actions you perform anyway, such as defeating 10 Verities with guns or having your turrets finish off 5 of them. A raid summary also pays out coins and gems at the end, so finishing a run always banks something.
Rebirth and the coin multiplier
Rebirth is the game’s lasting progression mechanic, and its cost is milder than it may seem. It wipes only the coins exchanged for the rebirth. Your bunker, guns, and items stay with you; in return, a permanent coin multiplier boosts every future run, compounding over time.
| Rebirth | Coin multiplier | Coins needed |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | 1.00x | — |
| 1 | 1.25x | 5K |
| 2 | 1.50x | 15K |
The in-game rebirth menu shows a 5,000 coin target for your first rebirth, which lifts your coin gains from 1.00x to 1.25x and unlocks items like the SMG, Shotgun, Breecher, and Sniper Turret. That extra 25% roughly speeds up every upgrade you buy afterward, so push for the target rather than hoarding past it.
Because rebirth resets your coin stash, use it just after clearing a wave during the short lull, then rebuild your walls before launching the next raid.
Upgrade bunker health before the boss waves
Walls buy time, but the structure’s own health is what keeps a run alive when enemies reach the hatch. Upgrade it at the stairway entrance using the Upgrade prompt. Each tier raises the health pool and cuts the ground damage Verities deal.
| Tier | Bunker HP |
|---|---|
| Wood | 500 |
| Steel | 1,000 |
| Reinforced | 2,000 |
| Titanium | 5,000 |
| Obsidian | 10,000 |
| Void | 50,000 |
Moving from Steel to Reinforced, for example, doubles health to 2,000 and drops Verity ground damage to 70%. Split your coins between health upgrades and rebirth progress rather than dumping everything into one.
Handling mini-bosses and the Wave 10 boss
Boss waves never arrive alone. A mini-boss or boss spawns surrounded by regular Verities, and the trap most beginners fall into is dumping all their fire into the big target while the small ones breach the hatch behind them. Thin out the regular Verities first so nothing slips inside, then let your turrets and gun chip the boss down.

Keep your distance from the giant red Wave 10 boss and kite it in circles if you are solo. If another player is on the server, split the work so one holds aggro while the other deals damage. Once your base is stable, expand flat walls into a perimeter dome topped with turrets so enemies cannot path around your defenses. Inspecting veteran bunkers nearby, some reaching Wave 50 and beyond, is a quick way to copy turret positioning and dome layouts.
You will know the opening is working when a wave clears with your walls repaired, at least one turret intact, and coins still in reserve for the next upgrade. Build the chokepoint, bank your wave bonuses, grab the free daily and mission coins, and hit that first 1.25x rebirth. From there every run funds the next one faster, which is exactly how the early grind turns into clearing Wave 10 without sweating the boss.
