Leviathan is the god that rules the Labyrinth across Clive Barker’s Hellraiser universe, and in Hellraiser: Revival it becomes the destination of Pinhead’s climactic transformation. The cutscene where Pinhead reaches it ties together Aidan Lynch’s bargain, Sunny’s betrayal, and the moment the Hell Priest steps into the void to become something greater.
Quick answer: Leviathan is the deity that rules Hell’s Labyrinth, pictured as a giant floating black diamond. In the scene, Pinhead leads the Cenobites into Leviathan’s void to complete his own apotheosis.
What Leviathan is in Hellraiser: Revival
Leviathan is the supreme power the Cenobites serve. It is the Lord of the Labyrinth, the god tied to flesh, hunger, desire, and pain, and every Cenobite in the order answers to it. Pinhead, called the Hell Priest, acts as its voice and emissary rather than its equal.
During the scene, Pinhead frames the destination as “the birthing lakes and carrion houses of gods.” That line marks Leviathan not as a single creature to fight but as a place and a force that reshapes anything that enters it. The whole sequence builds toward that threshold.

Leviathan appears as a huge black diamond monolith that hovers inside a storm above the Labyrinth. Below it stretches the Field of Souls, a high platform of metal scaffolding and bridges where Aidan crosses on foot toward the structure. The diamond is the fixed point everything in the scene moves toward.
Beyond the platform lies a vast rippling void, a cosmic purple-and-black sea that represents Leviathan’s power directly. This is the water Pinhead eventually wades into, and it is where the transformation happens.
Leviathan in the Pinhead ascension scene
The sequence opens before Aidan even arrives. Colin Marlowe has the puzzle box driven into his chest in a failed attempt at ascension, and Pinhead declares that Marlowe was marked only for consumption. A flesh creature is released to devour him.

Aidan Lynch then solves the Lament Configuration in a cemetery to find Sunny. Pinhead materializes, binds him with hooked chains, and offers a bargain. Sunny will be returned if Aidan forfeits his own flesh when he is summoned later. Once Aidan agrees, Pinhead presses the box against him, carves bleeding runes into his chest and arm, and hands the box back as a key and compass into the Labyrinth.
Aidan carries the box across the metal bridge of the Field of Souls, following Pinhead toward the diamond. There the Hell Priest re-emerges in a flayed, skinless ascendant form, crowned with a spreading ring of needles, reveling in raw sensation in front of his assembled Cenobites.

Sunny then wakes and accepts Pinhead’s invitation to join the Cenobites. She tells a devastated Aidan that she bargained to become one of them all along and used his quest to carry out her own rebirth rite. A Cenobite carries her away as the group moves toward the void.
The void and Pinhead’s apotheosis
At the edge of the platform, Pinhead proclaims his apotheosis and steps into Leviathan’s churning black waters. He leans back into the sea and dissolves into particles of light, completing a metallic transformation under the gaze of the diamond above. This is the payoff Leviathan exists for in the scene, the point where the Hell Priest surrenders to the god he serves.

Aidan is left behind for the final beat. The Female Cenobite, named Fallen, urges him to abandon his mundane life and surrender to eternal sensation. She caresses and kisses him, hooked chains latch into his face, and his pupils expand until his eyes turn completely black. The on-screen prompt “Make your choice” frames this as Aidan’s own threshold.
Where to see the scene
Hellraiser: Revival is a first-person action horror survival game from Saber Interactive that released on October 8, 2026. The Pinhead and Leviathan sequence plays out as an in-game cutscene rather than a separate interactive fight, so you reach it by progressing the story and the bargain with Pinhead. The game is listed on its Steam store page.
If you are tracking Leviathan specifically, the thing to watch for is the black diamond in the sky and the void beneath it. Everything in the finale, from Pinhead’s flayed ascension to Sunny’s pact and Aidan’s blackened eyes, revolves around that single god and the sea it rules.
