Between heists and police chases, GTA 5 hides a pair of quiet attractions you can climb aboard whenever you like. Del Perro Pier has a working Ferris wheel and a roller coaster, and neither one is locked behind story progress or ticket purchases. You just walk up and press a button.

Quick answer: Drive to Del Perro Pier, walk to the boarding gate, and press the on-screen prompt. The Ferris Whale costs $8 and the Leviathan coaster costs $15 in Story Mode.

Where to find the rides at Del Perro Pier

Both attractions sit on Del Perro Pier, which juts out from Del Perro Beach into the ocean on the west side of Los Santos. The Ferris wheel towers over the pier and is almost impossible to miss, especially after dark when its lights switch on. You can spot it from elevated spots across the city.

Take the north entrance ramp onto the pier, park on the wooden deck, and climb the stairs to the amusement park’s upper level. Walk along the boardwalk past the carnival kiosks and games to the rides at the far end. You can go straight there without completing missions or purchasing a ticket.

Ride the Ferris Whale

The ride is called the Ferris Whale. Approach its boarding turnstile and check the on-screen prompt, which lists the fare as $8. Press the indicated button, and your character automatically sits down as the wheel starts turning.

The ride makes a leisurely circuit, offering changing views of the pier, beach, and Los Santos skyline. While aboard, switch between first-person and cinematic camera angles to see more of the surroundings.

Ride the Leviathan roller coaster

The Leviathan roller coaster stands next to the Ferris Whale. Go up the stairs to its boarding platform and use the prompt to board. In Story Mode, the ride costs $15.

Once aboard, the coaster climbs the lift hill and runs through its turns and drops over the pier and the coastline. Unlike the Ferris Whale, the game does not let you change the camera view during the coaster ride.
