Fortnite Override: What to Finish Before the Season Ends (Nov 1)

The Override Battle Pass, free Fortnitemares rewards, and your Sprite progress all lock when the season closes.

The Override Battle Pass, free Fortnitemares rewards, and your Sprite progress all lock when the season closes.

Fortnite’s Override season closes with downtime on November 1, 2026, and a lot of what you have been working toward disappears the moment the servers go down. Any Battle Pass tier you have not unlocked is locked for good, seasonal quests vanish, and the rewards tied to the current Sprite system stop being claimable. You have until the final evening of October 31 to lock everything in.

Quick answer: Reach at least Level 200 on the Override Battle Pass for every reward and Super Style, complete 26 Fortnitemares Quests for the free Jack-a-Nape skin, and extract every Sprite you can before the season ends on November 1.

Reach Level 200 on the Override Battle Pass

The Override Battle Pass is the one piece of progress you cannot recover later. Its cosmetics are expected to leave rotation for a long stretch once the next season begins. Level 100 unlocks the base rewards, but you need Level 200 to claim the bonus rewards and Super Styles on top.

If you are behind, stack these XP sources in the final weeks:

  • Finish every XP quest currently available, from Story and Weekly to Fortnitemares and Ranked, along with Fortnite OG and Reload quests.
  • Extract and Master Sprites, since the Sprite Mastery milestones pay out several tiers of 40,000 XP.
  • In Battle Royale, having a Gold Sprite and the More XP Override Cartridge increases the XP you get from eliminations.
  • Redeem the active Lobby Hack codes that grant XP.
  • Run Creative maps and LEGO Fortnite Odyssey for steady playtime XP.

You know a tier is secured once it shows as claimed in the Battle Pass tab. Walk the reward track before downtime and manually collect anything you unlocked but never claimed.

Claim every free seasonal reward

Beyond the Battle Pass, a batch of free rewards runs through the remainder of the season. Each one unlocks through a specific task, and most disappear at the rollover.

Collect and secure every Override Sprite

The mini-season is rumored to carry the current Sprite roster forward, though that is not confirmed. Building the widest collection now gives you a head start either way. Always extract a Sprite you find in a match to lock it into your Sprite Collection.

  • Chests: a low chance to drop a Sprite.
  • Cheat Codes: the strongest odds, with higher-rarity codes improving your chance at rarer Sprites.
  • Pumpkin Chests: Smash one to guarantee a Sprite.
  • Lobby Hacks: free Cheat Master Sprites and other variants.
  • Boss eliminations: any boss drops a random Sprite.
  • Trading: the fastest route to the Sprites you still need.

Master Sprites for the Mastery rewards

Even if the Sprites themselves carry over, the Sprite Mastery rewards and the Sprite Trainer Back Bling styles must be unlocked while this season is live. Master what you can before October 31. Each Sprite type levels up differently.

Sprite typeHow to Master
Most SpritesEliminations and opening containers; Quack Snacks also add XP
Bounty HunterFour eliminations (two during double Sprite XP), player or NPC
KlomboConsumables; up to four Med Kits normally, fewer during double XP
CrownWin a match with one equipped to unlock the next variant

Quack Snacks come from Vending Machines or as loot. For Klombo Sprites, heal in the Storm or at the fire pits at Stone Sanctum or the building south-west of it to speed things up. Extract any Sprite you push to Level 5 to fully Master it, except the Adventure and Klombo Sprites, which extract themselves automatically at Level 5.

Spend your Sprite Dust and Gizmos before the reset

Both Sprite Dust and Gizmos reset when the mini-season launches, and an in-game timer is already counting down to the Gizmo wipe. Anything you hold onto is lost, so use it all before the season ends.

Hold your Lucky Locator until your collection is as full as possible. It guarantees a Sprite you do not already own, so a larger collection shrinks the pool and pushes it toward something genuinely new.

Lock in your Ranked Battle Royale rewards

If you play Ranked, finish the season at your highest rank. Doing so secures cosmetics like the Hack ‘n Slasher Pickaxe and the Unreal Override Pickaxe, which are exclusive to this season and will not return once it closes.

What stays after the season ends

Only seasonal progress is reset. Cosmetics you earned or purchased, your V-Bucks, and your account level remain for the following season. The upcoming content is expected to be a short mini-season, not a full new chapter. Leaks suggest a One Piece crossover, but Epic has not announced its name, theme, or start time. Treat October 31 as the firm deadline and handle the irreversible items first.
