The Honey Sprite is an Epic Sprite that arrived in Fortnite on October 15, 2026 with update v42.40 during Fortnitemares 2026. It is the last of the five community Design A Sprite contest winners to reach the game, created by Conejito_sam, and takes the form of a honey blob with a dipper stuck in its head and honeycombs running down its body. Six forms exist, and each one keeps the same bee ability while stacking its own bonus on top.
Quick answer: Smash Pumpkin chests during Fortnitemares to get the Honey Sprite fastest, since every Pumpkin chest is guaranteed to hand over one of the new Chapter 7 Season 4 Sprites. Regular chests, Cheat Codes, trading, and boss eliminations also work.

What the Honey Sprite does in a fight
When a ranged weapon shot hits a target, the Honey Sprite may release bees where the shot landed. Assault Rifles and Sniper Rifles can trigger this effect, with the swarm appearing near the target, not around you. The bees continue dealing passive damage for a few seconds after you stop shooting.
The bees deal 5 damage per second. That is useful for forcing an enemy out of cover, but the swarm covers a tiny area, so a target only has to step a short distance to escape it. The bees can also hurt the player carrying the Honey Sprite if you are standing too close to where they spawn.
The Deer Sprite is the sole other Sprite that deals pressure damage to opponents, but it does so by increasing your Pickaxe damage. Use Honey to chip away at players or drive them out of cover; it is not a tool to center an entire fight on.

Add to Google Preferences →Every Honey Sprite variant and its bonus
All six forms went live at once with v42.40. The base version is the most common, and every variant adds its listed bonus on top of the shared bee ability.
| Variant | Bonus on top of the bee ability |
|---|---|
| Honey | None (base bee ability only) |
| Gold Honey | 3x bonus XP from eliminations |
| Cheat Master Honey | Make sure every input is entered correctly when using Cheat Codes |
| Loot Hacker Honey | Higher chance to spawn items from your Loot Hacks |
| Bounty Hunter Honey | Odds of finding Sprites after eliminating opponents |
| Trick or Treat Honey | Odds of finding Candy from opened containers |
Cheat Master Honey is the most difficult form to locate. Trick or Treat Honey is the simplest to find, since the Trick or Treat line was released most recently.
How to get the Honey Sprite
Pumpkin chests are the quickest source because smashing one is guaranteed to give you one of the new Chapter 7 Season 4 Sprites, and Honey is in that pool. They are spread across the whole map during Fortnitemares, so repeated Pumpkin chest smashing is the most reliable grind. The Honey Sprite drops at Epic rarity.
When there are no Pumpkin chests nearby, try these other methods, which can also drop it:
- Search rare and normal chests. The odds are low but never zero.
- Enter the Trick or Treat Cheat Codes placed around the map.
- Get the Honey Sprite by trading a duplicate with a friend.
- With a Bounty Hunter Sprite in your loadout, eliminate opponents.
- A Sprite may drop at low odds when you defeat a Chapter 7 Season 4 boss.
Using the All Sprite Variants Loot Hack adds 6% to the chance of getting a Sprite from a chest. Holding a Loot Hacker Sprite doubles that bonus.
Trick or Treat Cheat Codes can appear “Corrupted” and glitch when you try to enter them. Hit the code once with your Pickaxe, then input it again and it works normally.
The Honey Sprite and its variants are absent from bot lobbies.

Best POIs to farm the Honey Sprite
Begin at Nightmare Neighborhood, introduced as a POI in update v42.30. Several Pumpkin chests are there, and Freddy Krueger can be found somewhere inside if you want to battle him for Freddy’s Nightmare. POIs with plenty of greenery are also good places to find Sprites.
| POI | Why land here |
|---|---|
| Nightmare Neighborhood | Many Pumpkin chests plus a Freddy Krueger boss |
| Golden Grove | Dense greenery, good Sprite odds |
| Cluster Coast | Green POI worth sweeping |
| Shaken Sanctuary | Green POI worth sweeping |
| Heatwave Harbor | Green POI worth sweeping |
| Stone Sanctum | Also has a Vault underneath to open |
| Green Hill Zone | Green POI worth sweeping |
Finishing the collection with Gizmos
If the Honey Sprite is the only one you are missing, the Lucky Locator Gizmo points you to a buried Sprite chest that holds a Sprite you have not found yet. With everything else collected, that chest can only give you Honey.
The Cheat Code Locator Gizmo searches a small area to reveal a high-rarity Cheat Code. Since these codes often award rare or recently released Sprites, it is a good option when Honey is still missing.

Leveling up the Honey Sprite
Earn XP for Honey by opening containers, breaking Pumpkins, searching chests, eliminating opponents, and using items. The chance for a ranged hit to spawn bees climbs with each level.
| Level | Chance to spawn bees |
|---|---|
| 1 | 5% |
| 2 | 6% |
| 3 | 7% |
| 4 | 8% |
| 5 | 10% |
Bounty Hunter Honey does not follow those XP methods: it gains Sprite XP from eliminations alone, except when a Sprite has special XP rules.

How rare the Honey Sprite is, and how to confirm the pickup
Honey is an Epic rarity drop, with its chance ranging from 4.396% to 2.637% based on its place in the rarity table. Pumpkin chests always give a Sprite, so farming them is quicker than opening regular chests; boss defeats provide the best odds per match.
Whatever source you use, you only keep a Sprite if you extract it before being eliminated. To confirm the pickup landed, open the in-game Sprite collection screen, where Honey appears once it is yours. Keep extracting your pulls, and the Honey Sprite should drop into your collection within a handful of runs.
