Diamond Dust is a common level 45 crafting material in Enshrouded, used across high-tier gear, potions and Eternal spells. You cannot pick it up ready-made from a node. Instead, you gather raw Diamonds in the volcanic region added with the 1.0 update and grind them down at a Mill.

Quick answer: Mine Diamonds inside the Shroud pockets of Cinder’s Cradle, then grind one Diamond at a Mill (3 minutes each) to make one Diamond Dust.

What you need before you start

Diamond Dust has a single ingredient: one raw Diamond per unit. Diamonds themselves are a common level 45 material that only appears inside the Shroud of Cinder’s Cradle, the volcanic region. So reaching the region and carrying a pickaxe are the real prerequisites.

Inside the Shroud, an ENSHROUDED · LEAVE NOW! warning appears with a 0:48 timer while the Travel Through The Shroud quest is tracked.
  • Access to Cinder’s Cradle, reached by passing through the Ancient Gate east of Starfish Shores.
  • A pickaxe to mine Diamond veins. A Gilded Pickaxe works well.
  • A built Mill at your base, which needs a nearby force generator to run.

A Mill requires a nearby force generator to run. Windmill sails and a water wheel that is partly underwater both qualify, so install one before starting the grind.

Mine raw Diamonds in the Cinder’s Cradle Shroud

Open the world map and head east from Starfish Shores and Cromville Hot Spring toward the Ancient Gate. The gate is the crossing point from the water biome into the volcanic region that sat sealed for the whole of Early Access.

Once inside the volcanic biome, find a Shroud pocket. Diamond only forms inside these Shroud zones, so you will not see nodes out in the open lava wasteland.
Search along cave and cliff walls inside the Shroud for Diamond ore veins, then strike them with your pickaxe. Each vein yields Diamond along with Basalt. Grab as many Diamonds as you want units of dust, since the recipe is one for one.

Grind Diamonds into Diamond Dust at the Mill

Head back to base and use a Mill. Check that its force generator is spinning; without it, the station will not process anything.
In the Mill’s menu, choose the Diamond Dust recipe and queue the quantity you want to make.

Load your Diamonds into the input slot and start milling. Each Diamond takes 3 minutes to turn into one Diamond Dust at standard workshop speed.

You know it worked when Diamond Dust appears in the Mill’s output after the timer finishes. Diamond Dust stacks up to 250 and can also turn up in Locked, Silver, Wooden and Golden Chests and in Sarcophagi, but the Mill is the reliable way to produce it on demand.

Picking up Diamond Dust for the first time unlocks several Eternal spell recipes, so it is worth making a stack early even if you don’t need the material itself yet.

If you want a different powder from the same Diamond nodes, the Mill also produces Sparkling Dust, which combines one Diamond with one Moonstone, one Celestium Ore and one Mother-Of-Pearl. The first three come from Cinder’s Cradle, while Mother-Of-Pearl is found underwater in the Stillmere Basin. That recipe also runs in 3 minutes per batch.
