The Emberguard Shield is a level 45 Warrior shield built for players who parry and then hit back. You can craft a Rare copy at the Blacksmith. A Legendary copy that upgrades to level 50 sits in a fixed chest inside a dungeon in Enshrouded’s far northern volcanic region, so you don’t have to farm random loot for it.
Quick answer: Fast travel to the Springlands Dungeon Entrance waypoint, walk into the Embervale Museum hall, climb the stairs on the right to the balcony, and open the ornate gold chest.
Emberguard Shield chest location
The dungeon is in the northernmost biome on the map, the volcanic area above the starting lands. On the world map it is marked as Springlands Dungeon Entrance, northeast of Lake Luma and Cromville Hot Spring. If you’re starting near Braelyn Bridge, keep panning the map north until the volcanic terrain begins. The waypoint is just past that point.

E on PC) to open it and take the shield.
To confirm it worked, open the Character equipment menu and select the shield. The item card should read “Emberguard Shield,” list it as a Shield, and show “LEVEL 45/50” with the Legendary tag.
Emberguard Shield upgrades from level 45 to 50
The Legendary copy starts at level 45. You can upgrade it at the Blacksmith up to level 50, and each upgrade level adds one bonus. Two bonuses add flat armor, and three raise skill levels tied to parrying and bashing.
| Upgrade level | Bonus | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 46 | +21 Piercing Armor | More defense against piercing damage |
| 47 | +1 Power Parry | Parries fill more of the enemy stun meter |
| 48 | +1 Opportunity | More bonus damage from Opportunity |
| 49 | +23 Blunt Armor | More defense against blunt damage |
| 50 | +1 Bash | Bash fills more of the stun meter |
This is the shield whose description mentions three small dots on its center, standing for humanity, the Ancients, and the Flameborn. It’s meant to be used aggressively. Its Bash, Opportunity, and Power Parry perks all pay off when you block an attack and then punish the enemy right away.

Crafting the Rare Emberguard Shield at the Blacksmith
If you can’t make the trip north yet, the Blacksmith, Oswald Anders, can craft a Rare version. The recipe unlocks at Flame level 9 or higher, and you have to craft it under a roof, inside a shelter. It costs:

- 1 Piscine Ivory Dust
- 1 Gold Bars
- 3 Celestium Bars
- 1 Diamond Dust
- 3 Moonstone
You smelt Gold Bars and Celestium Bars at the Blast Furnace, using 20 Celestium Ore plus 40 Coal for the Celestium. Diamond Dust comes from grinding a Diamond at the Mill. The crafted shield has the same item level and the same three perks as the chest copy: Bash 1, Opportunity 1, and Power Parry 1.
The shield can also drop at random from Golden, Locked, and Silver Chests, but each roll has at most a 0.9 percent chance. The fixed museum chest is a much more reliable way to get it.
Emberguard Shield vs. other level 40–45 Warrior shields
Several other endgame Warrior shields come from the same Blacksmith tier. All of them are Rare, all are crafted under a roof, and all have Parry Power 1. The main differences are their perks and the Flame level you need.

| Shield | Item level | Perks | Flame level |
|---|---|---|---|
| 45 | Bash, Opportunity, Power Parry | 9+ | |
| 45 | Power Parry, Arcane Deflection, Vigorous Deflection | 9+ | |
| 45 | Power Parry | 9+ | |
| 40 | Power Parry, Arcane Deflection, Vigorous Deflection | 8+ | |
| 40 | Power Parry | 8+ |
Every perk in the table is at rank 1. Emberguard has the same perk set as the starter Rising Fighter Shield, just at item level 45. Astrodome and Arisztar share Power Parry with it but add two deflection perks, so they suit a more defensive playstyle.
