Kitaria Fables 2 now has a launch window. PQube’s new trailer for the co-op action RPG ran during The MIX Fall Showcase 2026 on October 16th. Over about two minutes, it sets up a new story, introduces two new heroes, and shows the combat, crafting, farming, alchemy, and cooking systems that make up most of the game. It ends on a single slate: Spring 2027.

Quick answer: Kitaria Fables 2 launches in Spring 2027 on Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. It has no exact date yet, and physical pre-orders are open now.

Kitaria Fables 2 release window, platforms, and physical editions

Spring 2027 is the only timing confirmed so far. PQube has not set a specific day for any platform. The rating badge on the closing slate still reads “RATING PENDING,” so the ESRB has not rated the game yet.

The physical Switch 2 and PS5 editions will release on the same day as the digital versions. Pre-orders are open to customers in North America and Europe through the official Kitaria Fables 2 page. Secret Level Studios and Twin Hearts are developing the game, and PQube is publishing it. It is a direct sequel to the original Kitaria Fables from 2021.

New heroes and a new region: Alice, Dusty, and the Arkadera Peninsula

The sequel heads to the Arkadera Peninsula, a wilderness on the Empire’s western frontier. Early footage reveals forests, ancient ruins, and enormous red mushrooms. The trailer then shifts to illustrated scenes of Alice Skylar—a white rabbit and newly graduated Royal Army Pathfinder—planning with King Cerulean over a map.

Alice crosses the Endless Ocean by ship with Dusty Tuftkin, a small rodent who works as a local guide. They land in Whitewall Town, a port full of purple-roofed houses and animal villagers. Their job is to join the Royal Academy Expedition Team, map the uncharted lands to the north, and rebuild the region’s defenses.

Work comes through Whitewall’s Errand House. There, an administrator named Fawn points the pair to a board of monster reports. The bulletin boards seen around town act as the game’s quest boards.

Combat and two-player co-op

Fights happen in real time. The footage shows sword slashes, dodges, and area-of-effect spells against slimes, crabs, and other field enemies. Damage numbers pop off each hit, and P1 and P2 markers float above the two heroes. When the pair leave town together, the screen splits. You can play solo and switch freely between Alice and Dusty, or a second player can drop in and out of local co-op at any time.

The trailer also shows one boss, the Corrupted Treant, which gets a “Prepare to face…” title card before both players take it on. Other clips move the fights to riverbanks, castle terraces, and open fields. Near the end, Alice uses a fiery spinning attack that looks like a higher-tier skill. The gear changes too. Alice switches to greatswords, while Dusty uses dual daggers and heavier armor sets.

Whitewall Town’s crafting, farming, alchemy, and cooking

The second half of the trailer focuses on the townspeople who run each crafting system. Each system has its own menu, and the trailer shows enough of each one to see actual costs and stats.

Maya’s Forge

Maya is a young blacksmith from the town of Howl. Her forge sits in Whitewall’s main square. She won’t work for you until you bring her Iron Ore from caves in the coastal lowlands. After that, she makes weapons and armor from Paw Pennies (the game’s currency) and monster drops. The trailer pauses on her recipe for Carapace Armor.

The same armor list includes Basic Platenmail, marked complete, along with Copper Armor and Silver Armor, both still locked. A few seconds later, a journal popup adds the Iron Harpes, a decorative dagger that has been sharpened for combat.

Kiki’s Farmstead

Aunt Kiki from the first game has become a produce business owner with several farms. Her newest is a run-down farmstead on the edge of Whitewall Town. You till, plant, and water crops on a grid, where red and green squares show which tiles you can use. You also repair the farmhouse interior, which becomes Alice and Dusty’s home.

Alchemy with Periwinkle

Periwinkle, the owl apothecary of the Royal Academy, still thinks of Alice as his best student. At his workstation, you brew potions and remedies from plants you forage or grow. The trailer shows the Good Health Pot. It costs 2 Green Mucus and 1 Grass, restores 80 health right away, and adds a regeneration effect that lasts 30 seconds.

Cooking with Louis and Wisteria

Dusty’s uncle Louis and aunt Wisteria run The Fluffy Bun, a bakery in Whitewall. Once you learn recipes, you cook at the cauldron in the back of their shop. Meals restore stamina and give buffs that last 1,440 seconds, or 24 minutes.

Kitaria Fables 2 Steam demo

You don’t have to wait until spring to try the game. A demo went live on the Kitaria Fables 2 Steam page earlier in the showcase week. It covers the opening of the story in Whitewall and the coastal lowlands and runs more than four hours. It includes:

  • A prologue tutorial followed by a main story mission
  • 22 side quests and 11 job quests
  • 20 enemy types, including mini-bosses
  • Alice and Dusty each have 4 active skills, 4 passive skills, and 1 character upgrade
  • A level cap of 18 for both heroes
  • Whitewall’s vendors, the forge, Periwinkle’s alchemy, and farm restoration at Kiki’s
  • Drop-in, drop-out two-player local co-op

The demo and the trailer cover the same opening content: the trip to Whitewall, Fawn’s first jobs, and the first visits to the town’s crafters. The full game expands from there into the northern frontier sometime in Spring 2027. A firm release date is still to come.
