Iron Bramble is a 2D pixel-art action-platformer built on Metroidvania foundations. Its new gameplay trailer, shown during The MIX Fall Game Showcase 2026, packs about a minute of grappling, gliding, shooting, and boss fights into ruined gothic cathedrals and flooded industrial chambers. It ends on a title card with a release year and a single platform logo.

Quick answer: Iron Bramble is due in 2027 on PC via Steam. No exact release date has been announced.

Iron Bramble release window and platform

The trailer ends with the red gothic “iron bramble” logo, then “2027” and the Steam logo. Every official trailer released so far uses this same ending, and an earlier brief gameplay clip invited viewers to wishlist the game on Steam. No console versions have been shown.

  • Release window: 2027, with no specific day or month confirmed
  • Platform: PC, via Steam
  • Genre: 2D pixel-art action-platformer and Metroidvania
  • Demo: an earlier demo announcement trailer ended with “DEMO OUT ON SEPT 17!”

Traversal in Iron Bramble: chains, dresses, and rings

Movement takes up most of the trailer. The protagonist is a fixed, red-haired character in a red hood. She carries a chain grappling device that latches onto marked anchor points. An aiming reticle shows where the chain will go, and diamond or circular markers flag the surfaces you can grab. She swings from enormous hanging iron chains, climbs the outside of a tower, and pulls herself through a cathedral hall lined with stained glass.

Chain swinging leads straight into glowing boost rings, one of several ways Iron Bramble keeps the player airborne. Shown at 00:09 in GameTrailers’s video.

The rest of her moveset adds more ways to stay off the ground:

  • Dress gliding: her long gown flares into a bell or parasol shape, so she can float across gaps or drift slowly past spikes and red mines.
  • Wall-sliding and wall jumps: she can cling to walls and attack from them.
  • Boost rings: glowing rings fling her through vertical shafts and across rooms.
  • Target switches: shooting a round target turns on launch rings in a vertical shaft.
  • Dashes: mid-air and ground dashes keep her moving between platforms.

Some areas build whole routes from grapple points. In a submerged abyss she chains together a run of floating organic nodes without landing. Near the end of the trailer, she anchors to circular targets one after another to shoot straight up a vertical chasm.

Iron Bramble combat: blades, guns, and lasers

Combat combines close-range and ranged attacks, often in the same few seconds. She slashes enemies in the air, does a spinning downward attack from a wall, and hits flying drones while sliding down a flooded chamber. When she pulls out a firearm, the trailer shows heavy rifles and shotgun-style blasts that leave armored machines in pieces with a lot of blood.

The weapons go beyond basic shots. She fires angled, high-powered laser beams at floating cores, launches explosive projectiles, and parries or deflects incoming fire. Enemies include mechanical drones, armored robots, glowing spherical foes that burst into collectible items, and floating eye creatures protected by spiked yellow shields. Some enemies have health bars above their heads.

Iron Bramble bosses shown so far

The gameplay trailer shows several boss fights, and the earlier demo and announcement trailers show a few more. Only one boss has a name on screen.

Map, dialogue, and outfits in Iron Bramble

The game has a full-screen “MAP” menu that lays out a large, connected world. Zones are color-coded, and you can see room outlines and the paths between them. The demo trailer shows an “[R] ADD MARKER” prompt, so you can place your own markers on the map.

Story scenes use text boxes with character portraits. In the gameplay trailer, a character named Lilac says:

“How sweetly your blood sings…”

The demo trailer introduces a second speaker, an elven character named Lark. The announcement trailer opens with a CRT-filtered, isometric cutscene of the red-hooded girl and a creature rising from the ground, plus a brief flash of the repeated words “climb to suffer to climb to suffer.”

Outfits are tied to gear. Her dresses change between white and green gowns, and the demo trailer shows a Pockets menu with wearable frocks such as Pretty Frock and Karma’s Spark. Each frock has a description and uses item slots, which suggests dresses work like equipment and are not only cosmetic.

Taken together, the trailers present Iron Bramble as a fast, vertical Metroidvania built around grappling and gliding, with a gothic, bloody setting and plenty of large bosses. For now, the only confirmed facts about its launch are the 2027 window and Steam as the platform.
