Oratory Debut is the Gift of Gab challenge series inside Where Winds Meet’s Qingzhou Opening Month event. Each stage you clear pays out Delight Pages. You spend those in the event shop on Lingering Melody, Resonating Melody, and cosmetic accessories. The duel looks busy, but it comes down to comparing numbers lane by lane. Once you see that, the stages go quickly.
Quick answer: Talk to the Qingzhou Gift of Gab Expert. In each lane, play cards whose point value matches or beats the incoming enemy bubble. Break two of the three mind defenses to clear the stage and earn 500 Delight Pages.
Oratory Debut stages and Delight Page rewards
Open the Qingzhou Opening Month event screen. It has three tabs: Oratory Debut, Seeking Ink-Sight, and the Exploration Manual. A Delight Page counter shows how much event currency you hold. Each Oratory Debut stage has a matching clear quest, and every quest pays the same amount.
| Stage | Quest | Delight Pages |
|---|---|---|
| Taste of Combat | Clear Stage: Taste of Combat | 500 |
| One More Time | Clear Stage: One More Time | 500 |
| Twisted Logic | Clear Stage: Twisted Logic | 500 |
| Repetitive Babble | Clear Stage: Repetitive Babble | 500 |
Later stages move faster and use stronger enemy cards. They still reward the same 500 pages as the first one.

Gift of Gab lane rules in Oratory Debut
The board has three lanes. Each one links one of your mind defenses to the matching enemy defense: Valor (crossed swords), Poetics (scroll and brush), and Discernment (eye). A card you play becomes a speech bubble. The bubble travels down its lane toward the opponent, and the enemy’s bubbles travel toward you.
- Playing a card costs Inspiration Points. Your total is shown at the lower right.
- The number under a card’s portrait is its attack value.
- To win, break at least two of the opponent’s three mind defenses before the clock runs out.
- If time expires first, the side that dealt more damage to the other’s defenses wins.
Each match lasts about two and a half minutes. That is enough time to win, but not enough to read every card. The practical approach is to treat it as arithmetic. Check the number on each incoming enemy bubble, then answer it in the same lane with a card that matches or beats it.

What happens when two speech bubbles collide
When two bubbles meet in a lane, their points are compared. If the values are equal, both bubbles disappear. If one is higher, it destroys the weaker bubble and keeps moving forward with the leftover points. Whatever reaches the enemy’s end damages that lane’s mind defense.

Blocking only keeps you even. To win, you need to send a stronger card into a lane that has already been cleared, or one where the enemy’s bubble is weaker.
Which Oratory Debut starting cards to keep or replace
Point value decides most collisions, so use it to judge your starting hand. In the early stages, keep cards worth more than 10 points and replace the rest. In the advanced stages, the enemy bubbles get bigger, so raise the bar and keep only cards worth more than 15.

Gift of Gab card buffs that change the math
Many cards have effects on top of their base number. Some speed the card up, some refund Inspiration, and some deal extra damage to the Inner Bastion. Event cards are marked with an LTD tag, and several of them get stronger in one specific lane.
| Card | Value | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Nice Bluff! | 11 | +150% Movement Speed |
| Bring It On! | 19 | +150% Movement Speed |
| Hold Your Tongue | 22 | 2.0x Inner Bastion damage |
| Kudos to You! | 17 | 2.0x Inner Bastion damage |
| Verbal Strike | 15 | Removes a random damaged enemy card |
| Ranting | 10 | 10 hits of 3 damage to all cards |
| Final Push | 10 | +3 Inspiration, slower regen |
| <LTD> Smooth Talker | 42 | +50% Attack on Discernment |
| <LTD> Buying It | 36 | +50% Attack on Poetics |
| <LTD> No Clue | 42 | -80% speed, higher base Attack |
| <LTD> Say Sooner! | 15 | 2.0x damage to cards, breaks barrages |
| <LTD> Enlighten Me | 27 | Spawns a 4-Attack Fluff Card guard |
| <LTD> Oh Really | 30 | Spawns a 6-Attack Fluff Card guard |
| <LTD> No Evasion | 50 | Quip Card; blocks one lane |
| <LTD> Draw Inspiration | Quip | Next Gab Card costs less |
Lane-specific buffs matter most when you need to break a heavy enemy push. Buying It already has a high base value, and placing it in the Poetics lane raises its attack by half again. Smooth Talker gets the same boost in Discernment. Enlighten Me and Oh Really each leave behind a Fluff Card after their collision. That Fluff Card guards the Inner Bastion of the same lane. Draw Inspiration lowers the cost of your next Gab Card, but the discount does not apply to Maxim Cards.

Maxim Cards work like assistants and stay active over time. While Yan Yuan is active, you get 1 Inspiration Point back for every 5 you spend. Wei Zheng launches a free 12-Attack Gab Card for every three cheap cards you play, meaning cards that cost 3 Inspiration or less. Zi Lu uses up all of your remaining Inspiration Points.
In the faster late stages, you can skip the card text entirely. Watch the numbers on each lane and answer with higher numbers, and you can still win.
Turning Delight Pages into Lingering Melody
You can confirm a clear on the event screen. The stage’s clear quest completes, and your Delight Page counter goes up by 500. Spend the pages in the event shop on Lingering Melody, Resonating Melody, or the event accessories. Each Lingering Melody pays for one pull on the Celestial Echo Draw, the limited banner for cosmetic appearances. All four stages together give 2,000 Delight Pages, and none of them require you to read a single card description.
