The Gargoyle is a Mythical pet from the Grow a Garden Halloween Event 2026. It has one ability, Stone Form, which either speeds up the ability cooldowns of nearby pets or gives them bonus XP. Because it affects every pet in range at once, it is most useful for leveling a group of pets together. You can only get it from one egg, and the odds are low.

Quick answer: Buy the Haunted Egg for 1,500 Candy Corn at the Frightening Fauna shop and hatch it. Each hatch has a 9.5% chance to give you the Gargoyle.

Gargoyle hatch chance in the Haunted Egg

The Haunted Egg is the main pet egg of the Halloween event, and it is also a Mythical-tier egg. It can hatch four pets. The Gargoyle is the second-rarest of them.

Lantern Wisp35%Whim-of-the-Wisp

At 9.5 percent, you should expect roughly one Gargoyle for every 10 or 11 Haunted Eggs on average. At 1,500 Candy Corn per egg, that works out to about 15,000 to 16,500 Candy Corn. Luck can push that number much higher or much lower, because every hatch is a separate roll.

How to get the Gargoyle in Grow a Garden

The Haunted Egg is always available in the Frightening Fauna shop. Unlike regular shop eggs, it does not depend on random stock rolls, so you won’t miss it. The only limit is how much Candy Corn you have.

Farm Candy Corn by turning in fruit at the Witches Brew. Only fruit that has a Halloween-themed mutation, or that comes from a Halloween-themed plant, earns Candy Corn.
Keep submitting until you have at least 1,500 Candy Corn. Each submission pays up to 10 Candy Corn, and the top contributor gets an extra bonus on top of that.
Open the Frightening Fauna shop and buy the Haunted Egg.
Place the egg and hatch it. If the result is the Gargoyle, it goes into your pets like any other hatch. If it isn’t, repeat from Step 1.

Since each submission is capped at 10 Candy Corn, a single egg takes at least 150 qualifying turn-ins. Growing Halloween plants early in the event gives you a steady supply of fruit that qualifies.

Gargoyle Stone Form ability: Timing, range, and effects

Stone Form triggers once every 15 minutes. When it does, the Gargoyle lands somewhere in your garden and turns to stone for 10 seconds. Every pet within 15 studs of that spot gets one of two effects for as long as it stays in stone form.

  • Cooldown advance: nearby pets lose one second of ability cooldown for each second the Gargoyle stays stone.
  • Bonus XP: nearby pets gain an extra 3% XP per second instead.
  • Range: 15 studs, measured from where the Gargoyle lands.
  • Duration: 10 seconds of stone form per activation.

With the cooldown effect, a full activation removes up to 10 seconds from each affected pet’s timer. That is small for one pet. The value comes from the fact that every pet in range gets it at the same time.

That makes the XP effect most useful when you’re raising several new pets at once. Keeping young pets grouped together means more of them are likely to be inside the 15-stud radius when the Gargoyle lands, which gets them to the level cap faster.

Pets can’t be placed inside the Halloween Garden plot, so the Gargoyle and the pets you want it to buff need to be in your regular garden.

The Gargoyle is not the strongest pet in the Haunted Egg. That spot belongs to the 0.5 percent Haunted Knight. But it is the one most players will actually hatch with a reasonable Candy Corn budget, and since its buff is shared across your whole pet group, it stays useful on almost any farm long after the Halloween event ends.
