Creeper World 5 is a new entry in Knuckle Cracker’s long-running tower-RTS-defense series. The enemy is still a fluid that spreads across the map, fills valleys, climbs hills, and wipes out anything in its path. This time there is more than one kind of it. The studio announced the game on October 16th, 2026, with a roughly one-minute trailer. The footage comes from an alpha build and is labelled that way in the corner of the screen.
Quick answer: Creeper World 5 is coming to Windows PC on Steam. It is single-player, its release date is still “to be announced,” and you can wishlist it now.
Creeper World 5 gameplay: Power grids against a rising flood
The core loop is familiar if you played Creeper World 4. You start from a command base and lay down a network of pylons and reactors. You push energy out along that grid to feed weapons on the front line. The trailer opens on this logistics layer. White and green power lines link buildings across the terrain, and green grid squares mark the ground your network covers.

Once the grid is up, the fighting starts. Cannons and launchers fire into an advancing wall of red creeper. Turrets project red targeting lasers toward the fluid, and explosions break out where the shots land.

A later shot pulls back to show the whole base. A ring of linked defenses holds dense red creeper away from the command center. Elsewhere the fluid breaks through, explodes across pylons, and pushes toward the hub. “Preparation is never enough,” the on-screen text warns, and the footage shows that the grid can fail.

The game speed controls in the interface run from 0.5x to 4x, with running and paused states. This matches the series’ habit of letting you slow down or stop the fight to plan.
Multiple creeper types with different physics
The main change from earlier games is that the creeper now comes in multiple forms. Each one has its own physics and its own effect on your units. The trailer shows red, green, blue, and purple fluids, sometimes on the same map at once. In one shot, an alien emitter pumps out dark purple fluid, and the camera then pans across terrain where red, green, and purple streams meet.
Knuckle Cracker says an improved fluid simulation drives all of this. In practice, you have to learn how each type moves and what it does to the units it touches, and plan around that. The trailer does not explain what each color does. That remains one of the open questions until more of the game is shown.
The terrain itself has also changed. Maps are large and use smooth, gradually changing 3D landscapes rather than blocky steps. This matters in a game where everything depends on which way a liquid runs downhill.
Units in the Creeper World 5 build menu
The alpha build menu groups everything into three tabs: Structures, Weapons, and Special. These are the units visible in the trailer.
| Unit | Role shown or implied |
|---|---|
| CB | Command base at the center of the grid |
| Tower | Network structure |
| Pylon | Extends energy connections |
| Rift Tower | Network structure |
| Reactor | Part of the power grid |
| Mule | Listed in the build menu |
| Cannon | Front-line weapon |
| Launcher | Front-line weapon |
| Sprayer | Weapon, also seen in the unit editor |
| Bob | Listed in the build menu |
| Nullifier | Listed in the build menu |
Knuckle Cracker also promises new strategic weapons and “experimental technology.” It has not said which of these units are new to the series. The list reflects an alpha build and may change before launch.
Built-in map generator and custom unit tools
The last third of the trailer, labelled “Advanced Tools,” focuses on creation. Players can make maps and units and share them with others. There are three tools on display.
Procedural mission generator
The Generation tab builds a map from a seed. The example uses seed 1980610417 and a “New seed” button to roll another. The sample map is set to Huge and square, at 384 by 384. Rectangular maps can break a 3:1 ratio, and their width and depth do not have to be powers of two.
- Terrain styles: Highlows, Islands, Lowlands, Mountains, Plain, Plateau, Desert, plus custom settings
- Sliders for landform size, base height, maximum height, roughness, plateau, and cliffs
- A cliffs option that makes slopes twice as steep and gives clearings flat bottoms
- Buttons to generate a preview, apply to the map, and export a PNG
The generator also places objects. One run in the trailer reports 4 resource patches, 4 breeder patches, and 530 scenery instances.
Custom unit and script editor
A Custom tab opens unit definitions as JSON. The trailer shows a sprayer unit’s action settings next to a live 3D model and materials preview. Knuckle Cracker describes this as built-in scripting support. It continues a series tradition: Creeper World 4 had its own scripting language, 4RPL.
Terrain painting
A texture editor lets you blend terrain textures, pick colors from a palette, and paint directly onto the 3D map. Elevation brushes sit in the same panel.
Creeper World 5 PC system requirements
Both tiers require a 64-bit processor and operating system. These specs are listed before launch, so they could still change.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 | Windows 11 |
| Processor | Dual Core 2GHz | Quad Core 3GHz |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | Dedicated GPU, 1050 Ti or better | Dedicated GPU, 2080 or better |
| DirectX | 11 | 12 |
| Storage | 2 GB | 4 GB |
| Network | Not listed | Broadband connection |
At launch the game supports English for the interface, audio, and subtitles. It is listed as single-player and supports Steam Family Sharing.
Creeper World 5 release date and wishlist
A launch date has not been confirmed; Steam labels it “to be announced,” and Knuckle Cracker is the developer and publisher. The trailer closes by asking players to wishlist the game. Add it to your Steam wishlist and Steam will notify you when it launches.

Fans had been asking about a sequel since shortly after Creeper World 4 launched. They now have a store page, a minute of alpha footage, and a clear outline of what has changed: several kinds of creeper instead of one, larger and smoother maps, and a toolset meant to keep players building their own levels long after the campaign.
