Platforms, crossplay, and what’s not included
The game launches on PC through Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Crossplay works across all three from day one, so you and your partner don’t need to own the same platform. Like every game in the series, it’s built for exactly two players, and both of you need your own copy.
Some platforms and services aren’t part of the launch:
- No Nintendo Switch version has been announced, even though earlier entries came to Switch.
- The game hasn’t been announced for Xbox Game Pass or PS Plus.
- The free demo that ran in April and again around Steam Next Fest in June is no longer available.

We Were Here Tomorrow price and Fan Edition
The standard edition costs $19.99, €19.99, or £16.99, and all three storefronts take 10 percent off during launch. You can wishlist it now on the We Were Here Tomorrow Steam page or on the PlayStation and Xbox stores, then buy once it goes live at 1PM UTC.
A Fan Edition is also available on Steam. It bundles additional downloadable content with the official soundtrack, and the soundtrack is also sold on its own.
Advice and crash fixes for the April and June demos might not work in the full release, particularly anything focused on the facility’s starting area.

What you’re playing on October 20
Two Explorers wake up in separate containment pods inside Norček Industries, a research facility hidden under the Antarctic ice. Neither of them remembers how they got there. Director Kathleen Bowe guides them as they try to find out what happened to the missing research team and what the facility was really working on.
The core loop hasn’t changed. Each player sees a different side of every puzzle, and the only way through is to describe what you see over a walkie-talkie. This time each player also gets a role-specific gauntlet tool that can be upgraded. The puzzles bend time, gravity, and space, and some rooms rearrange themselves as you move through them. The setting is an imagined 1980s future scored with synthwave, and the story is written by novelist Claire North.
At roughly 15 hours, it’s the longest entry in the series. It’s also a standalone story, so you don’t need to have played We Were Here, Too, Together, Forever, or Expeditions: The FriendShip to follow it. The game is rated E by the ESRB and PEGI 7.
When the countdown hits zero, the Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox pages switch from wishlist to purchase. That’s your signal that the game is live and ready to download.
