Gray Zone Warfare’s Rogue Ops update, version 0.5, adds seven firearms to Lamang’s arsenal. Most of them come from European militaries. Range footage from the 0.5.0.0 Preview build shows how they load, aim and fire. The update also changes how you get guns in the first place, because most of the new weapons are no longer sold over a counter.
Quick answer: Update 0.5 adds seven weapons: the AUG (including the AUG A3), Benelli M4, G3, G36, FAMAS, UMP and Glock 18C. Most of them drop in the world instead of appearing in vendor stock.
Gray Zone Warfare 0.5 new weapons by caliber
The new guns cover five calibers. Three of the seven share 5.56x45mm, so ammo you already carry for an M4A1 or M16 feeds the AUG, G36 and FAMAS. The other four each bring a different round.
| Weapon | Type | Caliber | Sights shown on the range |
|---|---|---|---|
| AUG / AUG A3 | Bullpup rifle | 5.56x45mm | Red dot, flip-to-side 6x magnifier |
| G36 | Assault rifle | 5.56x45mm | Integrated 3x optic |
| FAMAS | Bullpup rifle | 5.56x45mm | Iron sights |
| G3 | Battle rifle | 7.62x51mm (M80) | Variable 1x–4x scope |
| Benelli M4 | Semi-auto shotgun | 12GA 00 Buckshot | Not featured |
| UMP | Submachine gun | .45 ACP | Reflex sight, 3x magnification |
| Glock 18C | Automatic pistol | 9x19mm | Not featured |
Each firearm has a distinct inspection sequence. At the range, the player repeats the same actions with every gun: checks the chamber, removes the magazine to view its rounds, turns the weapon through a complete inspection, and shoots paper silhouettes at 50 and 100 meters. The HUD displays zeroing for both ranges.
The 5.56mm rifles: AUG, G36 and FAMAS
Steyr AUG and AUG A3
The AUG is available in two versions. The A1 includes a built-in 1.5x optic and a foregrip. Picatinny rails on the A3 let you replace the original sight with an optic of your choice. In the footage, a white AUG uses a red dot alongside a flip-to-side magnifier offering up to 6.0x. It holds 41 rounds in the magazine with one more chambered, and can fire in single or automatic modes. Its barrel choices and accessories make the AUG one of the game’s most adaptable rifles.

H&K G36
The G36 comes standard with a 480mm barrel and a carry handle integrating a 3x optic, with a red dot mounted above. Picatinny rails can replace this arrangement, and backup iron sights are also available. The range build has a transparent 30-round magazine loaded with 29 rounds, plus one in the chamber. The player looks through the built-in 3.0x optic and fires in both single and full-auto.

FAMAS F1
The FAMAS arrives as the F1 variant. Aftermarket parts move it toward the later Valorisé standard, including modern optics mounted on the carry handle. It has fewer accessories than the other new rifles, and by default it uses proprietary 25-round magazines that don’t fit AR-15-pattern rifles. The rifle has two selectors. The one in the trigger guard switches between safe, single and automatic. A second one behind the magazine decides whether the automatic setting fires three-round bursts or runs full-auto. That second selector matters because of the FAMAS’ very high cyclic rate, which can reach 1,100 rounds per minute. On the range it is fired over iron sights.

G3 battle rifle in 7.62x51mm
The G3 is the only new full-power rifle in the update. It fires 7.62x51mm M80 ball through a delayed roller-locking action. The footage shows 19 rounds in the magazine and one chambered. Its variable scope steps through 4.0x, 3.0x, 2.0x and 1.0x, and the player fires both semi-auto shots and full-auto bursts. The recoil is heavy. With ergonomic upgrades the G3 can keep up with modern rifles in semi-auto, but automatic fire is more for show than for practical use.
Close-range weapons: Benelli M4, UMP and Glock 18C
Benelli M4
The Benelli M4 is a gas-operated semi-automatic shotgun, which gives Gray Zone Warfare a much stronger shotgun option. You can cut it down into a compact breaching configuration or fit a suppressor. The range build shows four shells of 12GA 00 Buckshot in the tube and one in the chamber, fired one round at a time at the target dummies.

H&K UMP
The UMP comes in .45 ACP. It is lighter and more accurate at range than the MP5, but harder to control in automatic fire. Every .45 round in the game is subsonic except ACP AP. With a suppressor attached, that makes the UMP one of the quietest guns you can carry. In the footage it holds 24 rounds plus one chambered and fires in single and automatic. The player aims through a reflex sight with 3.0x magnification.

Glock 18C
The Glock 18C is a selective-fire 9x19mm pistol. Compensator cuts in the slide and barrel help a little with muzzle rise when firing on full-auto. The footage shows an extended magazine with 26 rounds and one in the chamber. The player fires semi-auto, then holds the trigger on full-auto until the gun runs dry. It is still a sidearm, though, and an automatic pistol won’t beat a rifle outside close quarters.

Where Rogue Ops weapons come from
Rogue Ops changes how guns move through Lamang’s economy. Most of the seven new weapons are found in the world instead of bought. Most existing weapons and attachments have also been removed from vendor storefronts. The Glock 18C and Benelli M4 are the main exceptions and can still be purchased.
- Weapon availability now varies by area: LLA personnel protecting drug labs carry firearms unlike those used by LLA fighters elsewhere.
- The world now contains uncommon weapon configurations with low chances of dropping.
- Vulture is now a regular vendor, available from the standard vendor screen, and sells weapons recovered from dead PMCs.
- Special camo-wrapped versions of the new guns are tied to Range & Rifle magazines found in the world.
Update 0.5 brings the game’s first soft wipe. Your locker contents and money are reset, while rank, completed tasks and vendor levels carry over. Any weapons you have stored from 0.4 will be gone.
Weapon parts, optics and ammo changes in 0.5
The seven guns come with a large batch of attachments. Some parts are for the new platforms, some are extra options for existing ones like the AKS, and some are new color variants of parts already in the game. MADFINGER’s October 11 devlog put the total at 370 parts, but the later Supporter Preview post lists “340+”.
| Addition | Count |
|---|---|
| New weapons | 7 |
| Weapon parts | 340–370 |
| Unique firearm camo variants | 6 |
| Collimators (color and reticle variants) | 22 |
| Magnifiers | 2 (4x, 6x) |
Weapon camos have also been revised, with lifelike colors and patterns suited to Lamang’s environments. Two combat adjustments change how every gun feels to use. First, suppression returns in a redesigned form that makes incoming fire feel threatening without obscuring the entire screen. Second, SP and HP ammunition inflict more severe wounds than FMJ and AP rounds. Every round displayed at the range is FMJ, so hollow-point and soft-point versions of these calibers should hit noticeably harder against unarmored targets.
Rogue Ops release status
The new weapons have been playable since October 19 for Supporter Edition owners on the “supporter-preview” Steam branch, and progress made there carries over. Everyone else on PC gets Rogue Ops, along with the AUG, G36, FAMAS, G3, Benelli M4, UMP and Glock 18C, when the full release goes live on October 22. No exact release time has been announced.
